Editorial Review
Listen to FM radio on your iPod and control everything with this convenient wired remote. Just plug in your iPod Radio Remote and select Radio from the main iPod menu. Use your click Wheel and tune to your favorite stations just like a classic analog radio. Easily mark a favorite station for quick access later and switch between favorite stations using either the iPod or the remote. The iPod Radio Remote supports FM stations from 87.5 to 107.9 MHz in both the US and European standards and 76 to 90 MHz in the Japanese standard. You can switch between the different standards when traveling. With the wired remote, you can control slideshow, video and music playback. Adjust volume, skip forward&back within a playlist plus switch between radio stations and turn the radio on or off, even if your iPod is in your pocket or backpack. Clip the remote to your lapel, shirt or collar for easy access, and activate the hold switch to eliminate unwanted button presses. At just over half an ounce in weight, 15.7 grams, the compact remote features a simple, familiar interface and plugs into the Dock connection on your iPod or iPod nano. The included pair of Apple Earphones has a cable that's a few inches shorter than a standard earphone cable, making it the perfect fit. You can plug it into the 3.5mm stereo minijack port on the remote or use another favorite set of earphones. Because the iPod Radio Remote is powered by the iPod itself, no extra batteries are required.

This is nice 2007-07-30
This is so nice. I can listen to my ipod or the radio on the same thing. I don't even have to buy batteries.

Great radio reception but drains battery 2007-07-23
Radio works well, easy to use, reasonable price and has good reception. Also comes with a set of earbuds.

All you have to do is plug this baby in and you get a radio option on the main menu. When in radio mode you can set station presets easily and if the station you are listening to supports RDS you will see the song information displayed.

There are a couple minor complaints with it worth mentioning. First you cannot charge your ipod while listening to the radio as the radio plugs into the dock connector. Second, it really drains battery life. I haven't done any formal testing but my non-scientific observation would put battery drain at 2x or greater of normal music listening usage .

Good product, though a bit pricey 2007-07-18
Radio functions are really handy to have, though I've discovered I use it more as a remote control for my iPod.

The volume control on the remote has proven to be very handy for when playing Mahjongg.

Radio features are minimal, but I can't think of what features would add more usefulness.

$50, though? It's a bit steep, but then again, so is the price of an 80G iPod. Certainly a toy marked to those who can afford the expensive toys.

It works as the specs say.... 2007-07-15
The radio remote is a-okay. I get very good reception for local stations in the Fairfield CT area and on occassion can connect to some NYC stations. It has added an additional dimension to my IPOD Nano.

Great little product 2007-05-16
Great little product and seems to be designed well. I bought a knock off on e-bay and then found out that it was not the same. Don't buy a knock off spend the extra money to buy the real thing. You can even go to e-bay and get it for about $40.00.

It also has great reception and nice radio features.

Just what the doctor ordered for the iPod, but... 2008-05-04
Definitely the Apple Radio Remote is a great asset
for the your aped but has plenty of room for
improvement.

1. Reception is not that great, and if you are confined within walls forget about listening to the radio.

2. An important feature is missing!
You should be able to switch, from this remote,
between listening to your iPod's playlist and listening to the radio. Instead you have to go to your iPod's menu and select MUSIC or RADIO and that sort of defeats the purpose of this "remote", doesn't it?

Still very happy with the new and useful feature it adds to my iPod.

disappointing 2008-02-28
Not very useful around my area. Doesn't receive FM well at all.
Too many wires.

Just stopped working 2008-02-11
This worked great while it worked. Have had it about 1 1/2 years and it just stopped working (volume control cont. to work). Too much money for something that doesn't last. Read similar complaints on Apple website while trying to troubleshoot.

nice product if you can get it cheap 2007-12-19
This is a really great product, it works great and is easy to use. Nice to listen to FM radio when you get sick of your own music. If it had AM radio as well as FM I would have given it 5 stars.

The price direct from Apple is outrageous, but you can usually get it Amazon at a much better price.

It's works in cubicle environment!!! 2007-11-28
I was skeptical about this accessory working for me where I work because I am in the middle of a floor with a hundred other people, all in cubicles and other electronics, and not near a window. The reception was awesome! No static...no sound fading. It worked perfectly. If you work in a similar environment, don't hesitate in getting this attachment if you want to add a radio to your iPod.
