Sony Dual Alarm Clock Radio w/CD Player
2008-10-09
This is an excellent product. I like to listen to books on CD. My last CD Clock Radio wouldn't play all book CDs. This one does. The only drawback to this product is the SUPER LARGE time display. Sony ICF-CD815 AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio with Dual Alarm
Easy to Use Radio
2008-10-09
I love this radio. It is easy to use; has a clock which is easy to read and the sleep feature is great. You are able to set the clock for 90 minutes of listening and then have it go off while you're sleeping. The CD is also great. I'm very happy I bouth it.
No battery backup?!
2008-10-06
As a rule Sony makes a great product but the engineers were asleep at the switch with this product. Even the most inexpensive of alarm clocks/clock radios have battery back up and ESPECIALLY with a dual alarm clock (and an aging electrical "grid" where you can lose power momentarily on a regular basis) it makes no sense NOT to have battery back up. The radio is no particular hot shakes either but as this is one of the more expensive clock radios (relatively speaking) out there, no battery back up makes it a "pass it by".
Just what I was looking for
2008-10-05
The Sony clock radio with CD player is just what we were looking for in a bedroom clock. I can wake to music and go to sleep with quiet music from the CD player. The three different settings for the display are a very nice feature. For those who do not want much light the lowest setting is great. The large numbers are easy to read also.
I totally recommend this product.

Happy with purchase

I bought two of these, one for each of my children. It is reliable, you have a choice of how you want the alarm to work - radio, buzzer, or CD, and even which song on the CD you want to wake you up. The numbers are large, which help when you have sleepy eyes. It's been very dependable so far.
Great item even if you have to pay for it.

I puurchased two of these using pepsi points and could not be any happier. These were taken off the points offerings and I can see why. Pepsi had to ship thousands of these once the word got out the were the best items on the electronics list.
If there has to be anything negative about this unit it would be that the internal antena is not real strong and therefor you are limited to certain number of stations. But the sound clarity and the dual alarm option is great.
I would say it is worth the cash price and would buy one as a gift or for myself if I had to buy another clock radio.
Excellent All-Around Alarm Clock
2008-09-03
First, it has an superb dimmer with three settings. I searched a long time to find a clock that didn't light up half my bedroom at night, and the lowest setting on this one is perfect (you can barely see it during the day but it's exactly the right contrast for at night).
Add to that nice big numbers, dual alarms, wake to CD/buzzer/radio (by the way, it's SO much nice to wake to a CD than a loud buzz), and very intuitive controls. It's also pretty heavy and seems very well made, unlike other cheaper, lighter ones I've had in the past.
If you live somewhere that loses power a lot, then you don't want this alarm clock (no battery backup), but if you have electricity most of the time, then this Sony is an excellent pick.
You Get What You Pay For

We got this for my sons' room so they could wake up to a CD instead of an obnoxious alarm on school days. Frankly, it just isn't that great. It does work, most of the time. But then, once in a while, the CD won't play. It acts like there's no CD in the player, and it defaults to the buzzer alarm. Then, next time, it will probably work again.
In general, the look and feel is super cheap. It sort of gives the impression of having been hastily slapped together by a depressed laborer in a prison factory.
