Customer Reviews
Ok, but certainly not good.

When I got my 60Gb Zen W, it was and is still fantastic. The only thing missing was any kind of case available. This skin was not even available when I first got my Zen, but when it did become available I did get it so as to have SOME kind of protection. As mentioned it will keep it from slipping, and protect it from rumbling around in a bag. It will not really PROTECT the Zen though. Since I have the original thick Zen W 60Gb I am being neglected in accessories. I did finally get a leather case that it fits in, but it is a little tight, but I can still access all the features and ports I need. This is a much better buy! Creative Zen Vision W 30GB 60GB Leather Case with Belt Clip Believe it or not, this case is also cheaper!!!
W 30 GB skin is too big for the unit
2007-05-07
the product arrived and it said for W 30GB but when I put it on my unit it was too big so I sent it back to the seller for exchange and up to now I never heard a reply so I don't know what's going on.
Does Not Fit

When I first got it, I thought that it might be for the 60 GB version. It is WAY too big to be 'secure'. The player could easily fall out and it because its loose and thin...it does nothing for absorbing shock if it falls. Get a leather case instead, better padding and fits better!
serves its purpose

This product is good in some respects but lacking in others. It does serve a couple of important functions. 1) It protects the Zen Vision W by serving as a shock absorber. While it won't really do any good if dropped any great distance, it does make a difference when it's getting knocked around in a bag for instance. 2) It prevents the Zen from slipping on smooth surfaces. I take mine to the gym, and set it on the ledge on the display part of fitness equipment (ie treadmill, stairstepper, etc.) In this situation, the rubber is essential to hold the unit in place.
The areas it is lacking in are 1) No screen protection. I bought the screen protector available from the Creative website, which in conjunction with the skin does a great job. 2) Leaving all the necessary exposed places makes some of the strips of rubber between the open sections rather thin and flimsy. This isn't a real problem per say, but just doesn't give off a nice appearance. 3) The unit will no longer slide in the bag that came with the Zen, due to the resistance of the rubber against the material.
Overall I like the skin and I would buy it again. However, it is just a skin (not a case) and is limited in its function.
Love the Zen W, hate the case

If your looking for a case that will protect your zen w player, this is not it. Its a thin piece of rubber with holes cut out for the screen and ports. It will do nothing for you if you accidentally drop your zen. The screen is left totally open, leaving it subject to scratches. If your using the (velvet?) case that comes with the zen, you wont be able to use it if you have the skin on because it makes sliding it into the case a very difficult task.
