Ignore the haters

This is a good TV. If you choose [and adjust the TV to] the appropriate angle, then the annoying dark screen thing goes away.
No technical problems so far. I've even dropped the remote a couple of times and it still works. Yay.
Great choice for a small bedroom TV

Just received this product in the mail a couple of hours ago. Set up was a breeze and the TV looks perfect. It should be noted that this TV is not intended to be watched at close distances since the PQ is not the best. So, I would not recommend this as a kitchen TV since you would be constantly viewing the TV at close range. It is a bit small but I find that a plus since it is very, I mean very, light. Some people have complained about the speakers but I believe they are perfect for its size. Also, the sounds associated with on/off could be disabled as well. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that I believe it is a little pricey. Nevertheless, a perfect TV.
(Also, if you ever enjoy hotel TVs.. Just the feel of them and what not.. This TV does give a feeling that your room is a hotel room. In a good way..) :)
Useful tips,
Don't forget to set the TV to Home mode.
Set the picture to Standard then make minute adjustments if needed.
HDTV reception is a must!
If you do not have HDTV broadcast go ahead and buy a small HD antenna.

Always read the booklet included with the TV first. There is tons of useful information in there that would solve most of the encountered problems.
Satisfactory performance 2007-12-30
I bought it when I moved into my new apartment and it was always on my mind that I would sell it off in 6 months and buy a bigger T.V. But it has stayed with me. The reason, is for a 19 inch LCD it is really a very good buy. When you are buying a 19 inch you are not luxuriating but want a decent TV that you can keep in your study or bed room. This is no way a living room T.V. The picture is crisp but a bit dark. The sound is a bit disappointing. I had to buy a bose companion for better sound. I have plugged by PS-3 to it and the games play very well. Blu-ray clarity is also good.All in all a good tv in a small package but not definitely the Living Room TV.

Haven't used the tv yet; waiting for our renovation to be completed. Love the box though!
poor quality as a PC monitor

A simple warning to all who consider using this product as a PC monitor: this product is terrible.
My serious disappointment with Samsung: Samsung's webpage regarding this product gives conflicting information to obscure the fact that this product is unable to support its native resolution in PC mode.
Virtually everywhere on the webpage at Samsung, including in the FAQs, you are told that the product has a native resolution of 1440x900, and this resolution is the recommended resolution if you are to use it as a monitor for PC or Mac. Only if you care enough to download their manual pdf file and read it, you are told that it has a maximum resolution of 1366x768. The quality of the product as a monitor is terrible, blurry characters with bad aspect ratio in all supported resolutions.
By magic, the manual equates the maximum resolution with native resolution (normally refers to the number of physical pixels in the display). While this is true in LCD monitors in general, when the LNT1954H cannot support its native resolution, the manual gives the impression that it can. Hardly a honest mistake.
slow TV

This TV is very slow to activate. Reminds me of the old tube tv's.
Best buy in 19 inch HDTV 2008-05-04
I have several different models of 19 inch HDTVs in the house. This HDTV gives me the best reception and best picture of any of them. The white color also looks great in our kitchen.
