Very Nice for Bedroom!
2008-01-15
I bought this for my wife on Xmas and I must say we are very happy with the televison so far! ( about a month old now ). I have the 42' HP-T4254 Plasma Samsung in the livingroom, which Is simply amazing. This tv is just as good. I hooked it up with an HDMI Monster cable through our Explorer Cable box ( IO Digital). All the HD channels are amazing, gorgeous sharp and the colors are vibrant. I paid around $499.00 for it, but next to all the other TV's even the Sonys this tv looked 10 times better!
You will not be dissappointed with it!
Awesome 2nd TV, Great Picture--only 1 drawback

My husband has been trying to get me to buy a new TV for our bedroom. I couldn't say 'no' anymore, as the colors in the old TV were going bad (is that person supposed to be that color?)
Anyway, we decided on this TV b/c of the reviews and features (as stated by other reviewers).
The ONLY drawback is that it does not display the closed captions when it is on 'HDMI' source. The only reason this is a drawback for me is that we used to put the CC on if the other person was asleep.
Aside from that, I love this TV. Wish I would have gotten it sooner---but don't tell my husband ;-)
Outstanding quality, highly recommended

After much research I settled on this as a replacement for an earlier Samsung 19" HDTV-ready LCD TV (for which I paid double the price of this 23" set back in the day). I'm totally blown away. Setup was a snap, from opening the box to watching TV took 5-10 minutes. Picture quality with my analog cablebox signal was fine, obviously not DTV quality but being an analog signal that was to be expected. But local HDTV using the native tuner was unbelievably good: sharp, detailed and with very little blurring in action shots, even at close range viewing. Using a good powered external HD antenna is a huge help in avoiding urban signal blips (buy a Terk model from Amazon!).
I was happy with the sound quality as well, adequate for me in a small space---the Dolby SRS is a big plus. The only minus is that Motorola cableboxes don't seem to work with Samsung remotes, but I'm used to using the cable remote anyway. In short, this is a marvelous HDTV with outstanding Samsung quality and value. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for this size LCD TV.

Great tv have the samsung 46" also. Great picture quality and features. Do not have hdtv box hooked up to 23" just digital signal, which we are using in the bedroom , but are receiving local channels in high def because of tuner. The 46" is hooked up to hd box and is awesome. Would reccommend this product.
Amazing HDTV!

This is truly an outstanding TV. It's probably the best 23" LCD TV on the market. A friend of mine has the "better" Samsung LN-T2353H TV and I think the picture looks just as good on mine. I bet they have the same display panel, just different cases and little features. Besides, this TV is cooler looking than the 53 series anyway, especially with the speakers on the side and no weird bulge underneath. It is an easy TV to get set up: just get it on the stand; plug in your devices; plug it in; and go! One thing that I've seen some people complain about is the quality of Standard Definition (480i) images. The issue here is that the contrast is simply set too high. The default setting is 100 (all the way up). Lower the contrast a bit and adjust the brightness to your liking for SDTV viewing and you'll be just fine. It even remembers different settings for different inputs, you can have have the contrast way up high for your DVDs and lower for your SDTV and the TV will retain your settings (which is very nice; my old TV did not do this). The built in speakers are nice, but are no match for a true Component Home Theater system. They're great with HDMI though, because of the excellent quality of digital audio. The TV has a melody feature which plays a little beeping sound when you turn it on. This is definitely going to be a love it or hate it type of thing, but the good news is that you can turn it off. The TV also has no lights that display while viewing it. There is a stand by light, but this only goes on when the TV is off. To sum it up - this is a spectacular TV with great features and that is easy to use with great manuals and directions. Do yourself a favor, buy it. I've done the research, and it's the best TV you're going to find in the 20-26" HDTV, 450-650 Dollar Range. You'll love it - my whole family does.
Brilliant clarity and ease of use!

After holding of on getting an LCD TV I finally gave in once one of our analog TVs went on the fritz. After checking out a slew of them from many consumer electronic retailers a Samsung LNT2342H 23-inch LCD caught my eye..the price was good also..under $600 which is around what I wanted to spend. Well the sales guy began to educate me on HDMI connections..upscaling DVD players and how I was going to be amazed at the clarity of high definition digital vs analog. Needless to say I was excited...I couldn't believe how light the box was..set up was a breeze and hooking it up to my cable box was a snap. Within minutes I was viewing an unbelievable picture and I still hadn't gotten an HDMI cable, HD cable box or upscaling DVD player yet. All that was to come in the next couple of days. The HDMI cable is the way to go! They are rather expensive in most retail stores but if you order them online you can get them much cheaper. I ordered one (a 6 foot one) from Amazon for 11.99 and got it within a couple of days. So once I plugged in my HD cable box and upscaling DVD player I was enjoying sight and sound at 1080p! I can never go analog again...LOL!
The picture on this set is gorgeous! The set itself is super nice and I love the remote...very intuitive and easy to use. The source button toggles you from all your connections and the menu button allows you to adjust your screen size within seconds if you needed to. What I have been missing!
Now I want to get a bigger one for my living room..one I can mount on the wall. My kids love it! We watched "Flushed Away" the other day and were so amazed at the colors and clarity! The HDMI connection brings you the best results picture wise and audio wise so ditch all your phono cables and spring for HDMI! I had picked up a $45 RCA upscaling DVD player at Wal Mart and it works perfectly with this LCD TV..you truly do get a 1080p experience with your standard DVDs. It's awesome!
I highly recommend this Samsung..aesthetically it's a gem and the picture speaks a thousand words!
Great TV; Expect what your paying for.

I use this TV for my room (very small room) mainly got it to play my Wii and PS3 in HD, and of course to see some HD movies.
The LCDTV is great; dose what you pay for. And get this when it Scand for channels it found like an additional 20 or so channels, 3 of them are HD. Options/settings/Personalization are great. To be honest I'm not listing all its pros and cons because you're buying what it's telling you. (Example it says 1080i, then you're getting 1080i no buts or ifs about it). One other interesting note you would want to know. As I was playing a Wii game with my friends one of them notice the surround sound (of course using the TV's own speakers) I thought they were lying when they promise surround sound but apparently not.
Only downside is it doesn't have 1080P (but you really don't need it for a 23"). And the contras ratio is something to be desired. Then there's the start up time (takes' a bit of time to turn on). But don't let this discourage you from getting the LCDTV; rather, just be aware of this things.
Nice TV

Very good image. Color very good except when viewed at an angle (vertically). Easy to avoid the problem. I personally don't like the extra wide but very short screen, and wish it were a few inches higher/lower.
I can live with it, but wish Amazon would have provided the actual screen dimensions rther than the fictional size supplied by the manufacturer. While checking it out, someone had asked what the actual screen dimensions were was but no answer had been posted and the info was not available amywhere on Amazon that I couls find.
Anyway , I'm basically pleased with it. Just be sure that the screen will be close to eye level when viewing.
Very good TV

I have been very pleased with this TV. I bought the 26" one first and then bought the 23" for the bedroom. My only problem with it is really my fault. It is a wide screen and I didn't notice that before I purchased them. So all the people look a little bit fatter than they really are. Maybe that's a good thing for all the Hollywood stars and models. I would recommend this TV to anyone.
Quite happy overall

We've been using our first HDTV here for several months here, and are quite pleased. For quality vs. price, we still feel this is a good choice, and we hope the unit will live up to its reputation and expected reliability.
Our biggest complaint is really the user manual, which is confusing in many places and lacks sufficient info in others, like in setup and cabling this TV to other devices. But maybe a good manual hasn't been written yet! Like most, the remote is not intuitive and has buttons that are hard to find.
