Great gift, versatile 2008-09-26
We gave this to our daughter for Christmas last year. It works well with her Nano. It is a bit difficult for a 10 year old to set the alarm, so she really doesn't use it for that. Why can't clock radios have more intuitive controls for setting the alarm???

A great device. 2008-09-20
The Ihome is a little big/bulky. But it plays the music clear and great. The remote is very nice to have, to control the device from a distance. I love it!

Good Sound, Not Good for Poor Eyesight 2008-09-20
The Good:

-sound is better than the average clock-radio.
-nice to be able to listen to your ipod at night
-recharges your ipod while you sleep

The Bad:

-the remote is almost worthless (hard to make the IH8 accept the remote's signal)
-not sure how to put this, but most clock-radios have illuminated digits, with a dark background. The IH8 is reverse; dark digits with an illuminated background. As my eye sight is garbage without glasses, this type of clock is not good for me; can't read the digits without glasses. If I'd known this, prior to purchasing the IH8, I would not have purchased the IH8

Great addition to your IPOd 2008-09-04
It does what it promises, I bought a couple other brands and didn't perform as expected.

This is a great product. I bought one for home use about 8 months ago and wanted another for my office.

Won't recognize iPod!!!! 2008-07-15
I received this as a Christmas present in Dec 07. In June 08, it will no longer work with either my iPod or my wife's iPod. I have to assume that the dock is poorly made (our ipods still work on other docks). Have done everything in the manual to try to have it work with no luck. Have contacted customer service - will see what they say. Unfortunately, only a 90 day warranty. This thing should work longer than that!

Pretty good 2008-07-01
I like most things about this clock. I like the fact that it start the alarm/music low and then builds up the volume so that it doesn't scare you into a morning heart attack. I also like the fact that it lets you adjust the brightness of the display, particularly for those of us who are insomniacs. And I like the fact that it allows you to use your iPod.

The two things I don't like about it is that the alarm only goes off for one hour and, because of this, I sometimes over-sleep - and that's not good.
Also, the FM reception is terrible.

iHome IH8BR Clock Radio for iPod 2008-05-28
I bought this ihome clock radio after researching the internet and reading reviews and wasn't disappointed. I haven't had any problems thus far. The sound quality is good for a bedroom clock radio. When waking up to the ipod it starts at the song that it left off from, the alarm has options to wake you and they work great. You can wake to ipod, radio, or buzzer. It charges my ipod without any problems. Set up was easy. The only negative I have seen is the clock radio face is sometimes hard to read (I am older) from across the room. Wish the numbers were bolder. You can adjust the light emitted from the screen, and you can set to play until you fall asleep and the volume lowers as the time you set it to play for gets nearer the end.

For the money and the little space it takes on my dresser, it is a great value. I am still getting used to the wheels for the volume. Once you get the hang of that it is no problem. The remote also works well. No, it isn't a bose, but it does play well and picks up radio stations well.

Awesome Buy! 2008-05-17
I really like the iH8 ihome!

PROS: it's small and compact and well fit good on a dresser or a desk. It has good sound for how small it is. The radio works really good. I live in the country and I could never get any radio stations I like, but the ihome lets me listen to all the stations I love. The buttons are easy to use and are straight forward. You can set the backlight of the screen to be how ever bright or dim you want it. I also like the fact that if I set my alarm to go off with my ipod classic and it's not in, a buzzer will go off instead. All the buttons light up too and they won't keep you up at night either. This unit is really easy to use!

CONS: The remote control sucks! You have to point it right in front of the unit and you can't be more then 8 feet away from it. The way the ipod is sent up to sit on the top can mean that if you hit it with something the port could get damage or the ipod could fall off and break.
