Works very well,but painful

This epilator works very well,but painful.I have removed hair from
legs perfectly and I would not dare use it at the bikini area.
My suggestions:1-make epilation in a slow motion
2-do not press,glide it
3-hold the skin surrounding the area of epilation
4-deep slow inhale trough nose and exhale through
mouth make process more tolerable and reduce the pain.

This product does exactly what it says. Only wish the it did not hurt so much. First time was painful and it has gotten a lot better. I have a lot of hair therefore right now I use it every two or three days. This way I keep up with my leg hair. Hopefully after I do this for awhile I can then go a couple of weeks inbetween uses. And I do not let all of it grow back in and then have to start over Overall this product is great

i just used it to epilate my underarms and i didnt even feel
pain, i can say i did really enjoyed my emjoi ;)

Wonderful buy!!! It greatly excided my expectation, after reading comments on-line I had concerns that this is going to be slow and painful epilator, but I decided to give it a try and it works great. I was a wax person for years, and then I switched to Brown silk-epil. That was a disaster, I developed allergic reaction over time, my skin would swell and stay like that for three days, I would have red marks all over my legs, hair started to ingrow and breakages started to happened on my usually clear leg skin. So I stayed away from this product, I was scared. I started shaving since there was no pain, but I would still occasionally wax. After moving to the USA, I stopped waxing due to cost and wax that is used in salons is not grabbing hair enough so it would break and also it used to bruise me, what was a real shame. I used emjoi AP10l for 2 weeks now, and I am amazed how smooth I am, it gives me the same feeling like after waxing. My hair was pulled out of roots, there was hardly any brakeage, and time that I spend was exactly the same as if I went to a salon for waxing. I LOVE IT. Emjoi did a great job by designing this hypoallergenic product, I couldn't be happier.

This is the best epilator I have ever used. I followed the instructions and used it after showering and using the loofah pad included. You don't need to put any pressure just place against the skin and go in the direction of the hair and you'll get most of the hair your first try, as long as it's long enough. For any remaining hair, I went over it again moving it in a circular motion - the spotlight helps with any missed hairs. There are also to speeds for different hair thicknesses - 1.Fine hair 2. Coarse hair.
I have used it on my legs, face, forearms and underarms. I didn't find it too painful on my legs, but it was very painful in more sensitive areas. The hair on my forearms is a little longer, so I shaved it first and then used the Emjoi when it started growing back to make it less painful (there's less pulling). I use the Emjoi every few days to remove any growing stray hairs - this definitely makes the process less painful, doing a little at a time instead of the entire area at one time.
Like others have said it is very painful, but you will get used to it after a while. If tweezing is too painful for you, then you may not want to use this product or any other type of epilator. The only difference is with this you'll pull a lot of hair out at one time, instead of one hair at a time - so it is quicker and saves time.
A good start... 2008-04-18
I have shaved my legs all my adult life...once using a chemical hair remover, I hate the smell and it made my sensitive legs break out in an awful rash. So, I was really unsure of what to expect with this epilator. On the other hand - I am one of the unlucky gals who shaves and 5 hours later has stubble. Ew! I bit the bullet and ordered the emjoi epliator.
I opened the package as soon as it came and plugged this little wonder in. I will not beat around the bush...it hurts. However, the pain only lasts as long as the thing is yanking out your hair...then it's over. I took many breaks, and it took me about 2 hours to do both legs from ankle to knee. Whew...Maybe I will tackle the thighs tomorrow. Now, about an hour later the redness is less and my legs are smooth!
I look forward using this again in a few days to see how the pain compares...I hear it lessens each time :) Good...
I'd say it's worth the money!
***UPDATE***
I have now owned this product for about a month. I was optimistic in the beginning, however my enthusiasm has lessened over time. I dealt with about a weeks worth of ingrown hairs. I was exfoliating each day - but stil had them. Then I began to use a simple solution - witch hazel. I found this near the rubbing alcohol in the pharmacy. In any case, just dampen a cloth and smooth over legs - problem solved. Ok, one thing down. The next problem is the "stubbly" feeling. I figured this would eventually go away as I got more and more hair. Well, nope. Even after an hour long session of running this over and over and over, I will still feel little hairs. Oh well, I can deal with that...
Oh yea, by the way the pain does get easier. Just the 2nd time I used it - it was so much better. Now I barely notice. I do use it about every other day, though.
So I orginally rated this product with 4 stars, I am bumping that down to 3 stars. I like that I only have to use this every other day, I like that there are no big long pokey hairs. I DISLIKE that I don't really have SMOOTH legs - so take this with a grain of salt!! It's good, but not great.

Have other Emjoi products. Love that this one has the power cord. Fast and easy. Works perfectly.

It took forever to get here but was happy when it did, I use it on my face and legs. Hurt the first couple of times but is much better now, Upper lip was the hardest. took 3 days to do it. Now just do a little every day or so, a little at a time is the only way I could do it. Chin was really easy and do it about every 2 week. Wouldnt be with out one again. Cover never fit right so I dont us it

I knew it was too good to be true, but when you have facial hair-and excessive hair everywhere else, you desperately buy anything. I could live with the pain if it worked. Once in a while it will pull out hairs, but only very fine ones that are quite long. The courser dark hairs stay put.
