Good DVD player for very little money

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter a few weeks back for her birthday. Unpacked it and found out that it had a bunch of dead pixels right in the center of the screen. I was miffed at that but Amazon sent a replacement right away. Amazon really does have an excellent return policy.

Picture is clear, sound is OK, and it holds up to the abuse that only a seven year old can dish out to an electronic device.

Recommended.

I bought this item in March and so far it works really well. My daughter just likes to sit and watch her movies on it when we are watching ours. The charge will last for about a movie and a half without being plugged in. Or you can just plug it in and watch as long as you want.

DVD player

I bought this DVD player to view piano lesson DVDs by the piano. The discs skip, pause, freeze, stutter and jerk. They do not do this on my DVD player attached to the TV in the other room.

I have had family health crisis and have been unable to talk to support or return it.

This item is perfect for the those long trips in the car. I can take it almost anywhere. Awsome!!

Does the job

We bought this DVD player to compliment one we already have so that our two kids could watch movies on our long trips (14+ hours). I mainly intended to use this player as a monitor and have the other player play the dvd. Although this player doesn't have full ntsc resolution, my son didn't seem to notice or care. Our other player, an audiovox 10in, has a nicer display with full ntsc resolution. This player also played dvds itself with no problem on both the wall adapter and the car adapter. We have not used the battery.

This review is based on use from one trip, and my impression could change as time goes by, but for now, it fills the role I envisioned.

Good features, poor quality

This DVD Player has tons of features for a low price tag, including a large, crisp display, but I can only recommend you to stay away. Video playback in my unit is jittery on the car (must be the car movement, but this is a big issue). The car charger died after being used twice. Using the Warranty involved a call to a (rather harsh) Coby representative, getting a money order for shipping payment (they won't accept _any_ other form of payment), sending a letter ... and I am still waiting two weeks and a half later. (Update: I got my replacement car adapter in about 4 weeks time).

Bought this item, can count on 2 hands the number of times it has been used and it does not work!! Keep getting the "no disc" error with every dvd we try!! Piece of junk!!!

Great Value

We just received and set up this DVD player and I am impressed. It came with many accessories and it is even compatable with my extra screen. The picture is very clear and the sound quality is great. The only down side to this dvd player is the humming noise the spinning dvd makes. The good news is you really can't hear it when the dvd sound starts. That is the only thing holding it back from 5 stars. We purchased a portable dvd player about 2 years ago for twice the money and this is better quality.

Its an Ok product , nothing great but no problems either.
It does not look rigid but the issue i have seen is closing of DVD , you need to press it at the right place else it will never close.
