EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

When i recived this product the top 4 buttons of the remote didn't work the play pause button didn't work and the off button would turn the music off and then turn back on about 5 seconds later. Then when i wanted to get it repaired the manufacturer makes you pay them for shipping to them and another fee so when i was going to return it to the seller I also had to pay shipping and then some other fee.

I've had this product for a little while now, and sure it beats my previous alarm clock. Even though it was somewhat expensive (for an alarm clock) I am very happy that I bought it.
Here's what I love:
1. I can wake up to my IPod.
2. I can charge my IPod.
3. The speaker is fairly decent for a clock/radio/IPod player
4. It's small footprint fits nicely on my nightstand.
5. I can turn the backlight off at night which works really well for my husband.
6. The Alarm time is easy to set and does not accidentally change the clock time.
7. The clock comes with a preset time and it pretty much sets itself.
8. It's got a remote which is very handy.
Here's what I would change:
1. There are four settings for the backlight, from brightest to off. I wish there were at most three since I like it on during the day and off at night and having to hit the button three times to turn it off seems like overkill.
2. Turning on/off the alarm is not completely intuitive. I'm still not sure how many button pushes are required - but one is not enough. I think you cycle between turning it on, choosing to set the alarm time, and off.
3. I wish you could choose the snooze time - nine minutes is a bit long.
Note that the Snooze button is also the button you hit to change the backlight setting which, at first, is a bit confusing.
Amazing Ipod Alarm Clock

I'm a very frugal shopper and been taking my time looking for a couple of years to find an alarm clock I really like. I've been oogling over those wide sleek alarm clocks out in the market but I just don't have the surface space on my side table next to my bed for any of those. This Timex alarm isn't as mod stylish as those wide low ones, but it has the smallest footprint for what it can offer. Feature wise it completely surpassed any expectations I had. Beyond the alarm and ipod compatibility, it's practically designed. Love where the buzzer is located on the bottom away from anything else you could accidentally fumble and accidently push and that it doubles as a dimmer. Several of the buttons have multiple purposes but it's not confusing. And the sound quality's pretty good for an alarm clock.

Thanks to those who mentioned the dimmer feature, I now have an alarm clock I don't have to throw a towel over!
This product is garbage 2008-06-17
I have owned this clock for about 4 months, and the first 3 were just fine. After that, it stopped working properly with my ipod. Nothing I did fixed the fact that I could no longer wake to my ipod. To add to that, its buttons have recently changed operation (eg. the "set alarm" button now changes the display's brightness, the snooze button does not function). I would highly suggest purchasing a different product if you plan on using your ipod in this clock with frequency.

Fantastic iPOD alarm clock 2008-06-05
Thanks to the positive reviews here on Amazon, I bought this product and its great. The most important feature was that the backlight can be turned up or down or completely off, which was great for me since I am very sensitive to light when I sleep. The alarm can be set to wake up with music from your iPOD (I have a 2nd generation Nano), which goes to the last song you were listening to (so I typically will set it at night). It comes with adapters for the various other kinds of iPODs also. It has two alarms, and I am still not clear on how to turn them off and on (I just keep clicking the alarm button until I get the desired alarms on). It has a snooze button too, but I don't use it. The sound quality is good enough for me and the handy remote makes it easy to control as a mini stereo system.
Good radio clock for iPod

Before I bought this radio clock for my wife as a gift, I did some research and found this is the only one fit for her needs. The radio is small and can be put on our small night stand. She can hook her iPod to it and control with the remote. Sound quality is good.
I just want to several things that needs to be improved to make this product a perfect one:
a. The AM radio signal reception is not good even with attached antenna. We live in a high-rise concrete building and signal level is fairly low, but still I feel like the radio reception should be better. No problem with FM.
b. Every time you connect your iPod to the radio, you need to take off the iPod skin. It would be nice ff the design could leave space for the skin.
Other than those two, my wife likes the radio very much. She doesn't have the problem some reviews mentioned: alarm volume control when the alarm starts with iPod; clock display too bright at night.
All in all, it's a very good product and I recommend it.

really happy with it. i needed one with a remote so i can rock my baby to sleep and be able to change a song or lower the volume.
Reliable alarm 2008-02-22
I bought this clock radio based on other reviews of it. I have had no problems with the Ihome clock radio. It's been a reliable ipod charger (3rd gen nano) and alarm clock. I had a little trouble figuring out how to turn the alarm off, but after reviewing the manual problem was solved. It came set to my time zone, the remote is sleek and easy to use. The Ihome Clock Radio came the day after I ordered it (I didn't ask for next-day delivery, I chose ground) and it comes with battery back up.
