Not Worth The Money
2008-07-26
I bought this in hopes that it would be like on TV. That is the most mis-leading commercial that I have fell for in a long time. The people that are endorcing this thing sure don't care about their reputation.
It doesn't have much power. I stopped this from turning with a gloved hand. I only used this twice in hopes that I was giving it a wrong opinion. Don't buy or you'll just end up returning.
i like it

okay, i just got my worx yesterday. i have been using gas trimmers for years. i bought a homelite weed wacker last year,i paid 135 for it,i have had nothinng but probs with gas one, so i decided to give this one a try. i was impressed with it. i was able to do my whole lot yesterday.(110X 165) i got a lot of work done with it was able to weed eat the whole yard, edge it. and still had battery left. i like the way it can easily turn from weed eater to edger. in a couple off seconds, as far as string binding up i had no probs with it. like the adjustments to it. so if you are needing one buy this one. i didnt even need a 2nd batter like suggested. i am very please with it. no more calaises on my fingers from pulling the cord....... and saving money on high gas prices.
DON'T BUY IT!

The Worx trimmer is light weight, telescopes, swivels, and would be an awesome trimmer if it just had power. This trimmer is a gutless wonder and I don't recommend it even to the light user! I mow every 4 days so my trimming is not overgrown! I think a weed w/ a heavy stem would stop it in it's tracks. It couldn't even handle a little grass and as a edger was even worse. I'm so disappointed; don't buy it.
Work

This product is GREAT, light weight, good for the enviroment, easy to use, no cumberson cords, on gas emmisions Everyone should use this esp for a small area heavy weeds and tall grass. I also use a reel mower so betewwn the both I save a lot on gas I do have a small yard so that makes it even better
Amazing Power for a Cordless

I was a little leary about purchasing one of those "as seen on t.v." lawn tools, but this little number really packs a punch! The battery lasts a long time too! The multiple direction handle really helps with tight places-- though I haven't gotten the complete hang of the edging feature just yet. Great product and I feel worth the price.

Great product

I have a lawn service and I use several trimmers, This one is much easier to use than any of the gas powered trimmers I have, They only get used now if the battery goes dead. I plan to buy and extra battery. Thank you for a great product.
GREAT and OVERWHELMING DISAPPOINTMENT
2008-07-14
My wife ordered this trimmer/edger for me as a father's day gift. When we received the product in the mail, we were very please. The GREAT and OVERWHELMING DISAPPOINTMENT came when we tried to actually use the trimmer/Edger, we realized then and there that this thing is simply not able to do neither the trimming nor the edging effectively. After we had followed the instructions, and charged the battery pack overnight, the next day we tried it in our driveway; a fairly small area, after 45min of frustration we had to give up. The results left our lawn looking uneven. To be generous, I'll say that the trimmer produced mediocre results, and is not effective at all as an edger. Anything but this product!
Worst not Worx

I have never made an online purchase that was this bad.I didn't read the reviews beforehand so I just fell for the description and it sounded good. I'm a 75 year old woman and don't want the gas powered (too heavy & too hard to start), have had cordless that didn't last and usually use electric. So this sounded good.It couldn't even cut the grass under the fence because it's reach is like 3inches and the handle was for a left handed person. It was heavier on top so it was difficult to balance even ignoring the misplaced handle. I'm returning it, but so sorry Amazon fell for selling this garbage. I have always had good luck with any other items I purchased through Amazon.
Great trimmer--works like a charm

I have used this trimmer for 3 months. I have no idea why some people think it's too weak to do the job or doesn't provide enough time for lawn trim work. I get 45 minutes use from it and have experimented on all types of grasses/weeds--it handles all of them very well. However, this is NOT a 'brush' cutter and it's not designed for that. Also, I have never had a problem with the line feeding out properly, although some reviewers have sugg'd the mfgr's replacement spools aren't wouund properly and therefore jam up. Simply rewinding the spool seems to fix that problem. The power level stays the same up to the last 5 minutes, when you then notice a loss of power. Ni-Cad batteries will do that--they keep the same voltage until they are almost spent. It only takes me 20 minutes to do my trimming so I only charge the unit after every other use; otherwise you will create a 'memory effect' in the Ni-Cad, which shortens your operating time. A full charge from a totally spent battery takes 1 hour, 10 minutes, which is VERY fast. You should fully discharge the battery once a month to keep it conditioned. Properly charged Ni-Cad batteries will take 200 recharge cycles. That's about 10 years of battery life; $5/year for battery cost.
The unit appears to be well built and built heavy enough to stand up to its intended use. I have a 60' x 125' city lot with a vacant lot next door. That's where I experimented on the heavier grasses/weeds. I highly recommend this trimmer.
