Quality, but not svelte

The PSC-1000 case for Canon's SD1000 camera is an adequate case for putting your camera in a purse or backpack, but it adds a lot of unwanted bulk to a camera that is small, and therefore makes it less portable. The case adds about half an inch to the length of the camera, and a quarter inch in the other directions.
It is built nicely, and looks handsome, but if portability is your goal, there are better fitting cases that will protect the camera from surrounding objects.

This case isn't bad. Some people say that it is a snug fit, but for the SD1000 camera, it has some extra space, especially near the top where the strap goes through which isn't quite what I was looking for. Unlike other reviews, the strap does go through the the provided hole fully, without cutting it to make it bigger which is nice. It is too big to carry in your pocket comfortably and does not hold anything extra, unless you don't have your extra memory card in a plastic case, and then it fits fine. The magnet holds well, and doesn't make a loud noise when you close it.

this is product looks like nice but if you are looking for a case who it protect your camera, like i was, in my opinian this it isn't the best choice.

I was concerned about what I have seen with other people who have small digital cameras and have the screen all scratched from carrying it in a pocket, purse or backback. This is a very inexpensive way to prevent that. If you buy this type of camera I strongly suggest this case. It fits the camera, it's light and sturdy. Nice magnetic clasp as well so nothing to get broken off.

The case is fairly nice and adequate. It would be a lot better if it had a small pouch for an extra battery and memory card.
Good quality case and excellent protection for Canon camera

This case is a must have for the Canon digital camera. It provides just the right amount of protection without adding too much bulk. The camera fits in snugly and is easy to remove. The only thing that I find strange is the cutout in the flap for the camera's lanyard. If you feed the lanyard through the flap, then when you take the camera out of the case you have to pull the lanyard back out too. Kind of defeats the purpose. But overall, I would buy again.
Snug Fit, Small Wrist band hole 2008-07-03
The case fits the camera snug so that it doesn't take up more space in my pocket, but the hold for the wrist band is not large enough. In my opinion this is a fatal flaw considering this is one of its only features. It is as if there person who designed the case had know idea about how the camera worked other than its dimensions. Find something else if ease of use is important to you.
broke after a few weeks... 2008-07-02
My camera fitted and the case looks OK, but after just a few uses the strap that allows attaching the case to a belt broke at the upper seams, without me noticing. I was lucky that my new camera survived the fall AND that somebody pointed out to me that I'd lost something...
Case doubles size of camera 2008-07-01
I bought this for my new Cannon camera, and though it fits the camera and has a belt loop, I ended up unhappy because it is so big. The whole point of small cameras is that they fit in a pocket, and this case doubled the size of my camera. I ended up emptying a box of crayons and keeping the camera in the crayon box.
Did not like this case 2008-06-30
I did not like this case. It was far too stiff and I was worried that it would end up crushing the camera.
Also no room for extra battery or cards.
