Editorial Review
The camera's built-in sensor is a pyroelectric infrared sensor, which means it uses infrared rays to detect temperature differences within its range that are emitted naturally by people, animals, etc. The sensor can be used to trigger the camera to buffer (i.e., temporarily store) camera images in its memory. You can view these images later as desired. The sensor can also be used to trigger the camera to transfer images to someone or somewhere, by FTP, E-mail, or HTTP. Privacy mode allows you to protect your privacy by hiding the lens inside the camera, preventing camera images from being seen. If users are accessing the camera when privacy mode is turned on, the camera image area displayed in their web browsers turns gray. No camera pages can be accessed by users while privacy mode is turned on. Once privacy mode is turned off, users can press the refresh button in their web browsers to view images again. Can't setup the camera ! Please help ! 2008-10-07
Hi all,

I also bought that camera 2 weeks ago, unfortunately I can't setup the camera upto now !

I use Windows Vista, I also turn off the Firewall, Anivirus, Internet browser as the Setup guide require. My laptop and the camera connect to the network router (Linksys EZXS55W) and this router connect to the internet. But when I open the CD to run the setup program, click "Search for camera", it doesn't work ! The Windows says it must close the program right now, and then I can't continue the setup's steps.

I also call for customer service from Panasonic, but they can't send technician to help me to setup the camera.

Now I don't know what to do with the camera because it was not setup yet !

Can anybody help me how to setup it ? For example when you click to "Search for camera", do you see any comment form Windows ? What did you do to continue the setup process ?

Anyway thanks for reading, I just find the people who already use this product to help me setup the camera and begin use it.

Thank You,

Best Regards.

Security Cam 2008-09-20
This camera is a great camera. Can view at night and in day. Set up was a cinch. Needs to be set up with wired cable, inorder to input wireless information.

Best home network camera for the price! 2008-08-16
I own two of the older model 311's and have recently installed one of these 111's in my house. the admin menu for this camera has more options then the 311's, which are nice. The sound feature works in Firefox, while the 311's don't. The quality of the images don't seem quite as sharp as the 311, but it's still ok for home surveillance. The 111 does MPEG video, which is better then the 311 options and means that the recorded images are very portable and readable by others. I've owned both Axis and Toshiba network cameras in the past and the Panasonic line is far better on numerous counts. The C111 Panasonic is a great choice for those looking for 1-way audio, Pan-Tilt and good recording software in the box. -Highly Recommended!

Ok when working 2008-08-12
Pros:
- Great image quality
- no that hard to setup

Cons:
- There is some sort of a problem with the camera built-in software, after accessing it remotley, it hangs and it needs to be restarted (by POWERING it OFF - ON ) this is very inconvenient where as the main purpose of getting this camera is to monitor home remotley.

Be aware that this camera will conflict with certain routers. I have a linksys and it would constantly lock up my network.

Great camera 2008-07-19
I have had this camera for 3 weeks now and it is great. I am using it as a petcam for my dogs while away from my house and so far it has been wonderful. The quality is great for the price of the camera, and the pan/tilt is very helpful. I set the camera up in about a hour, with the free website you get with the camera. You don't have to be technically savvy to set it up, it has detailed step by step instructions. Definitely worth the price!!!

It's doesn't get easier than this... 2008-07-09
Installed the camera and was up and running in 5 minutes. It doesn't get easier that that. I used my existing LINKSYS router that I purchased for wireless access for our PC's.

Decided to go with wired since the router is in my home office and plan to use it for telecommuting purposes. You can't beat the price!!!

I do plan to purchase at least a couple more (wireless) for home security purposes.

GUYS: Read and follow the directions!!!!

Great for the money 2008-05-20
I highly recommend this camera WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THE COST. I have DSL (PPPoe)and according to some documentation with Panic-sonic, it does not like DSL. Have not had any problems at all. Maybe the firmware update and also I am using Cat6 ethernet cable...?

Setup was easy and works as advertised. I own 3 of them. Make sure the camera is upgraded to most current version of firmware.
