EPIC MP3 player

I got this for my girlfriend to steer her away from her JunkPod and GayTunes, and she fell in love with it right off the bat. I pre-loaded it with a few thousand songs and she loves the thing. After upgrading the firmware I was so impressed with it that I'll be getting one for myself.
Dissapointing product and customer service

I bought this player for my 14 year-old daughter. It seemed to be an excellent option. The product is great looking, the sound is fine, etc. However, 4 months later the product simply "blacked out". It just did not turn on, so it became useless. When we called Samsung's service center, they asked for the serial number in order to repair it. Unfortunately the serial number was printed on a small paper label that was on the back of the player, and at some point in time it must have fallen off. Now the product will not be serviced by Samsung, and our money will go down the drain.
Very pleased 2008-05-11
My 13-year old son researched the mp3 players in his price range - and concluded that this was the one he wanted. We ordered it, and he has absolutely loved it ever since receiving it in December. He had loved it so much that my 11-year old daughter decided to save up money and get one for herself too. Though hers isn't all set-up yet (haven't had time since it arrived!) - I know she will be very pleased as well.
My son says that the player is easy to operate and describes it as an all-out awesome player! He definitely recommends it!
Sleek, Thin, and Great Sounding MP3 Player, Look out iPod! 2008-04-20
I bought this player after I lost my SanDisk Sansa Express 1 GB MP3 Player (Black) and I have to say, I'm glad I did. The first thing you notice when you turn it on is the great design and the "light emitting touchpad", as Samsung calls it, which is very responsive and easy to use, other reviews that I've read say that you need to learn how to use it first but I think it's pretty easy, though you have to look at the touchpad as you use it as there is no tactical feedback (you can't feel the buttons). Oh, and don't forget to get a cover or skin for it as it scratches and picks up fingerprints VERY easily!!! I got the i-nique Colour-Me (Black) Silicone skin case - Samsung YP-K3.
Another thing you'll love is the great sound quality, Samsung uses what they call Digital Natural Sound engine(DNSe), which I can only describe as "crisp and solid" sound, if you Google "DNSe" click on the 2nd link and you can read about it (though you most likely will not understand it, I didn't).
The k3 comes bundled with headphones, a USB cable for charging and transfers, and Samsung media studio software, which I don't even use, it's much easier to use Windows Media Player, though I think you will need either version 10 or 11 (I use 11).
So, If you're looking for a great looking, great sounding, reasonably priced, almost iPod nano slim MP3 player, k3 is the 1 4 U!
The best MP3 player in town 2008-04-20
Product shipped really quick. The product was just remove and use. I was looking for MP3 player for listening to songs only, I did not fancy the video player, etc. This product is just right for it.Sound quality is very good. The bundled earphones are also very good though I use my Sony earphones. The interface is smooth and quick. Has picture viewing capabilities but I doubt anybody would make use of it. The organic OLE display is rich. Battery life is good too. I got a deal on Amazon for $58 for the 2 GB piece. Bang for the buck I would say.
Pros - Sound quality, Price, display, smooth interface, battery life.
Cons - Prone to scratching, basic equalizer options.

Couldn't Be Easier 2008-04-08
After trying out several MP3 players, including the SanDisk Sansa e260, I discovered the Samsung YP-K3JQB player. I could not be more satisfied. It is extremely easy to transfer music using Real Player and Rhapsody, and creating playlist is also simple - I just drag and click. The earphones are basic but fine and the quality of sound is fantastic. I use it at the gym and love that it is so lightweight. The touchpad is extremely sensitive and that took some getting use to, and I wish that it had an SD expansion slot. Overall, I love the player and think that I made the right choice.
Great MP3 / WMA player 2008-03-26
If you don't mind having to use the supplied cable, this player works very well. Only negatives are 1. no expansion slot and 2. the face is going to get severely smudged between wiping it down (on your clothes or with a cloth). FM radio has good sensitivity. Navigation is fairly easy.
Awesome MP3! 2008-03-18
I got this MP3 to replace my other one that crapped out after a month! This MP3 player is so awesome! Its not really simple to put music on because you have to install this program but once you do that its a piece of cake from there. I really recommend this MP3 to anyone who enjoys listening to music.
Way out of this world! 2008-03-18
I have a Samsung YP-Z5 that I absolutely love and use every day at the gym, relaxing and etc... I even use it for data if I need to. I got the YP-K3JQB for my wife for Valentine's day. After playing with it for a while, I couldn't talk her out of it for nothing...not even Chocolate! She uses it for running, bike riding, walking and...well, getting away from our 3 year old for some time alone. Anyway, the features on this are incredible. The way it allows you to select the songs, set up the listening environment and the whole feel of this unit is worth the buy. It really is a 5 star rating. Very thin, strong and loaded with tons of features you would never think of. Samsung did quite a job on this one! When my Z5 goes out, I'm going for this one.
