I was skeptical buying such a cheap unit. I have been pleasantly surprised. the picture is great and all the features work well.

I purchased this portable dvd play mainly for long trips in the car which includes commuting. The play has many features that I haven't used but playing dvd's is good. It doesn't flicker or skip at least to date. It's build is durable but not something that would last in the hands of careless movie watchers. It comes with a holder that is strapped around the headrest post. Also the remote is handy for convienant scrolling through chapters. I mainly operate the unit while the grandkids watch and the wife drives.

Very impressive! Plays them all, then some more... Download any AVI movie, drag it to your USB drive and it will play with no problems. No need to convert your movie to DVD format and no need to burn/waste the disk! Or, you can burn 4-5 AVI movies onto DVD-R disk as data without any conversion, and then play them from the disk if you don't have USB drive. Love it.
On the top of that, when I use USB stick to play movies or music, the batteries last much longer, because there is no need to spin the disk and power up reading head, all that consume a lot of power, but not when you use USB drive. So, it's win-win situation. It plays any region and any system disks too. You can't go wrong with this one.
NIce player for cheap! 2008-05-23
I bought this for a my 3 year old for a long car trip a month ago. It has worked great. She has dropped it a few times without any damage. I love being able to add 6 divx movies to one dvd. Saves a lot of space.
The issues I have with playing divx movies:
a) If you turn it off during a movie you lose your place nad have to start over.
b) If it is on pause too long it will also lose its place and you have to start over.
c) It is hard to fast forward thru a divx movie. If you click the next chapter button it goes to the next movie. My home divx player skips 10 minutes instead.
Those are about the only negatives I can find. It works great and it is cool how it can rotate the screen to tablet style. Battery life for me is about 2.5 hours or more but if it sits long periods without being used the battery dies.
Great picture/sound, but questionable quality... 2008-05-14
I was greatly impressed when I first used the Coby TF-DVD7377 player; outstanding picture quality, good speakers PLUS a SD card slot and USB port. It was exactly what I was looking for in a personal media player and hundreds of dollars less than an Archos PMP.
Everything worked great for about a month and then the SD card reader died. Seems like Coby may have some quality control issues. Amazon is sending a replacement so we'll see if it's an isolated incident. Other than the SD card issue, the unit has worked flawlessly. I still strongly recommend.

Coby has packed what i consider to be very
desireable features in this little wonder.
besides the obvious DVD content playback,
it handles media on CD, SD cards and
USB memory sticks, and DVD-RW's.
i pushed my playlist to a SD 2GB card
and it has been pumping the tunes since.
a very good piece of equipment for the
price so far. it's been 2 months.
vendor sent item quickly and it was
well packaged.

Throw any format you want at it and it will show you a picture or a Movie.
Finally, something that will play everything you get and/or record.
Of course it's not High Def which we all want nowadays, but it works and works fine for its intended use. Paid a little over a hundred. That's cheap.
I especially like that I can feed it a CD, DVD, Thumb Drive or USB cable, and a SD card straight out of my camera. Good. Good. ...and Good.
Excellent Portable DVD Player! 2008-06-23
This is an outstanding DVD player! It doesn't skip at all, all the accessories are great and work perfectly! The screen is very crisp and clear and is not pixel-y at all! Also, the audio is outstanding whether your wearing headphones or not! The DVD player is lightweight, sleek, and looks much more expensive than it actually is! The DVD player is very simple and easy to use. The SD and USB ports work very nicely, although I haven't figured out how to play videos off of my SD card yetThe only reason I rated this DVD player with 4 stars is because I ordered one a few weeks ago and the screen was not working and I had to exchange it for another one and the new one works flawlessly. If it hadn't been for this instance, I would have given this DVD player 5 stars!

He usado este producto por 2 semanas y estoy encantado con lo práctico que es; reproduce videos grabados en un pendrive o en una tarjeta SD; debe tomarse en cuenta que el archivo debe ser archivo de pelicula porque si es archivo de audio o video el aparato no lo reproduce. Las fotos se ven bien y los videos excelentes. Es muy practico pues si tus fotos o videos están grabados en un pendrive los puedes ver sin necesidad de usar un cd pero ojo con el formato: para videos mpeg y fotos jpeg. Es un aparato muy liviano y funciona bien con su control remoto. Puede enchufarse a la corriente de 120 volt sin necesidad de colocarle la pila. Es muy bonito.

I bought this item for my kid, the greatest advantage is that it has all the accessories you may be looking for (car mount, 12v adapter). The screen is a bit small, but it plays DIVX!.
