Favorite Xmas Gift!
2008-07-21
We got this for our granddaughter last xmas. Seven months later it is still working perfectly and gets nearly daily use. My only complaint would be the expense of keeping printer ink to print all her masterpieces!
It does not work with HP
2008-06-24
I BOUGHT THIS TOY FOR MY FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, SHE COULD NEVER USE IT BECAUSE HP DOES NOT READ THE USB CONECTION FOR THIS GAME. I TRIED IT IN 2 OTHER COMPUTERS AND DIDNT WORK BECAUSE OF THE 64 BITS VIDEO YOU NEED.
Terrible, terrible, terrible!

I am astonished by how awful this product functions. While we did not have install problems at all, we did experience major disappointment while using it. Why? The stylus and the screen aren't matched well. You draw on the "paper" (the white board on the unit) as my son calls it and nothing stays in place on the screen. So when you get one area all set the way you want it, but switch to a different spot, your first area MOVES! And then your second paintblob or line moves when you make your third. So your picture never stays the way you wanted. I don't see how anyone can enjoy using this product. It is too bad because it is such a fun idea. I can't imagine completing any of the projects featured on the box or in the video demo since everything MOVES! I waited a long time to buy this product for my son. Now it's going back to the store as soon as possible! And yes, I have it set for the recommended resolution. I really don't think this is user error. I think it is design error. UGH! I wish I knew about a reasonable alternative.
Waste of money
2008-05-25
My six year old received this as a gift. After spending countless hours trying to install the software and make it work, I have given up. Customer service was no help. They assured me that it was my computer that wouldn't work and not the product. I have recently tried it on another computer and still find that it doesn't work. Don't waste your money.
ART STUDIO
2008-05-15
This a wonderful toy. Very easy to use my 5 & 8 yr old love to use it. I was afraid of buying the studio because of some of the bad reviews. But if was very simple to install had no problems at all, and I am not very computer savvy. Highly recommended.
Great Buy

The Digital Arts & Crafts Studio makes it easy and safe for kids to create arts and crafts with their home PC and printer. Plug into the USB port and turn it on. Parental controls allow the child to work comfortably at the tablet using the stylus and creativity tools. Password protection helps control access and limits the amount of prints per session. Includes 3 CDs. Children can save their art and print it. 19.6"L x 8.5"W x 3.8"H.
Poor Programming
2008-04-12
Do not buy this product unless you are a computer wizard. The programming is so bad that whatever machine you install this on crashes a million times. The Microsoft .NET runtime it needs to work ok, is one specific build. If you have a newer one, it won't work well unless you uninstall it and let the program install its own version of .net and directx9.0c (june 2007). So if you have other programs that need .net, they all break. How about that? Thanks Fisher Price! I mean really, flash games on Noggin work 1,000 times better than this.
Difficult to use for a 4-year old
2008-04-07
I bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday. First, it was a bit difficult to install it on the PC. It just kept going through the "installation process." We had to reboot the PC a few times before it finally installed.
Once installed, it was a little difficult to use, especially for a 4-year old, since one has to keep the ball-point tip of the "pen" to make sure that you can active the drawing (connect the dots, etc.) on the screen.
My daughter loves arts and crafts! However, she has not even asked us to play with this after the first use. Sigh ... hopefully, she can use it later.
Great gift item worth the price and good value

This was also a Sa**ta gift but hands-down it's been the best one my granddaughter has ever received.
Once we got my christmas present up and running (a new computer with bigger drive etc...) we loaded this gizmo up and she was off and running.
The great thing is she can hook it up and run it without my help and it has been just a boost for her creativity.
She can use this thing for hours.
Well loved and will be well used for a long time
Good idea, bad software
2008-02-16
This toy is hard to connect to the computer. The latest version says it works fine with Windows Vista, however I never got my computer to recognize the device. I have a laptop with Windows XP and I was able to connect it, however sometimes the computer cannot recognize the device. I tried to go into the website that the instructions say provide updates to the software and it still under construction. When connected it is a lot of fun for my daughter, but it is really frustrating getting to that point for both her and me. I believe it is too expensive for such simple technology with no possibility of upgrade at least for now. If you have a lot of patience, then you can buy, if you get desperate with computers, please don't it will drive you nuts!
