Great Value Laptop!
2007-06-06
This screen is amazing! So bright! It runs like a beauty once you un-install all the pre-installed stuff and turn down Vista's graphical "aero" mode. (although if you just do web browsing and word processing, may want to leave it on for aesthetics.)
Great buy if you need a value laptop computer for everything but video games. I have never been disappointed with Sony Laptops for their great screens and stability.
Only thing thats a little lacking is the battery life. At full brightness I think you can get a couple of hours max. Not really a problem for me because there are usually wall plugs where I use it.

Basic laptop and in that regard, it is OK

OK; I have owned this model for 6 months and I feel I'm in a position to have an objective all round view. First things first: This is a basic laptop and any one considering a purchase has got to do it on that basis. In that regard it is OK. You will note that there are only two USB ports and 1Gb in memory. Yawn... Yes, the VGN-N320E does not excel in anything but, in all fairness, I don't think it was meant to. The screen is bright enough. The sound is dismal (but so are all laptops) and it struggles with Windows Vista. The only area where it is decidedly bad is the touchpad. This has got its own mind and you are best advised to get a wireless mouse to avoid frustration. Other than that, for a basic mobile computer, it passes the test.
Its a Great Computer

Purchased it for my son in September.
No issues and it was a great buy.
fragile LCD

Beautiful piece of equipment. Worked nicely for the first two days. But on day 3 the Liquid Chrsytal Display fractured into a hundred colorful lines. I'm not sure what happened--probably the laptop got knocked by an unknown culprit. Still, it shouldn't have been so fragile.
The good news is that I sent it back to Sony, who say it is under warranty, and will replace the LCD.
BE WARNED - BIG FLAW
2007-07-05
WARNING: Do not buy a new Sony Vaio of any kind with Vista if you want to record any audio off of your sound card - meaning the internet. Sony has permanently disabled the "wave" or "stereo out" abilities of they're new computers. On all other major brands there is a simple two click solution, but Sony has deemed it in their best interests to make it impossible to reverse. This is a serious and deliberate flaw that they've built into their computers with bigger "corporate interests" in mind, not the usefulness of their computers to the average consumer. And they're customer service (what a joke) could care less! As so many have said before me, they have the worst service - it's just horrible. They had no idea what I was talking about and couldn't or wouldn't put me through to someone who could give me any answers. Be warned. See this forum for more information.

Good quality but RAM is not enough

This laptop is good quality but onboard 1GB RAM is not good enough to run Vista Premium. I encourage considering higher memory model.
