This leaf blower is just okay. I really don't know too much about them, so I do not claim to be an expert. It is powerful enough to blow leaves around. However, if there are a lot of leaves or when the pile starts to get deep, this leaf blower does not have the power to handle them. I would say it is great for light yard work, but I would recommend going with a different option if you have a lot of leaves that accumulate in your yard.

Product is AWESOME!! Works like a wonder. I would spend the extra money and get the metal shredder instead of plastic. Stupid me...oh well

Excellent blower, but don't use this one for mulching

I've used this as a blower for about 6 months.

However it is spring now and the yard needs some cleanup. I thought I would use my Toro as a vacuum and mulch some leaves.

It lasted about three minutes before it suddenly started shaking uncontrollably. Inspection showed that one of the fins on the (plastic!) impeller had broken off. It is now useless as a blower as well.

If you have a choice, go for the more expensive version with a magnesium (metal) impeller:

I am now ordering a replacement magnesium impeller (SKU TOR-108-8967) from M & D Mower in Ohio for $16.96 (shipping $7.95 to NV).

This is the second time where I have bought the cheaper option of two identical products, and the extra $10 would have saved me a lot of headaches.

If I had to rate this as a blower only, it would get 5 stars, no question.

A very good blower.vacuum, reasonably priced. Not too heavy with good power. The bag is designed to be easier to empty than many comparable units. Very satisfied.

Very good product. Does all I expected. One improvement might be a better way to secure the plug-in connection. I am very pleased with the blower and my shopping experience with Amazon.

This is a great blower and fantastic value. My husband laughs at me as I'm so excited to use it! No more sweeping for me :)

I've only used the vacuum once but it worked well. I was careful to try and stay away from the sticks though as other reviews have mentioned that it's not so good with those.

For general cleanup around the yard though, I would recommend it!

Potentially Dangerous

Very disappointed with this brand and product quality. My brother-in-law and I both bought this hunk of junk at the local chain home improvement store to take care of leaves in our first homes. With the first use, I was excited because it really seemed to be working great at blowing and tolerable though a little slow at sucking the leaves, and it wasn't too heavy or hard to manage. Despite following all the directions, halfway through the third use, it just stopped working and would never start back up. Oh, and I only have 1, medium-sized tree.

My brother-in-law had better luck, depending on how you look at it. His worked through an entire season but then absurdly and dangerously started throwing sparks - and I mean a lot of sparks - and you could actually see a small electrical fire through the vents. Scary.

Shipping was too high to justify repair, and we didn't trust it to work again for long anyway, so we got rid of ours at a 95% loss after less than a month's use. Although this might suffice for just a blower, I have since heard other horror stories about this brand, and I will not being buying a Toro again.

This is the second I've owned. They work great as blowers; not too super for vacuuming. The impellers don't do well if there are any rocks or acorns. For just leaves, it may work okay. For a blower, I think it works quite well; especially with the two speeds. I miss the power cord loop that was on the older model.

Good Blower from Toro

I bought it back in May 2008 and loved it right away from my first use. Compare to the price I paid for it and its performance, I'm happy to have it. It produces very strong wind to clear the side walk or drive way easily. I haven't used vacuum function yet to give opinions. Delivery time was fast as expected from Amazon. Over all, it is another good combination of price from Amazon and product from Toro.
