Less than perfect

The product is ok. The material will work well for
rebuilding my router fence. The wood should no longer
bind or catch on my new fence that uses this material.
But there are two reasons that I will not give
this product five stars. They are dimensions
and finish.
The advertised thickness is 3/4 of an inch, and
my micrometer says it is within one thousandth of 3/4.
That small discrepency might be my micrometer.
The width is advertised as 4 inches, but my piece
was 3 7/8 inches. The length is advertised as 48,
but my piece is 47 15/16. So if your application
requires exactly 4 inches, this product might not
work for you. For my application I can work around
this shortcoming. I would guess that the
manufacturer is trying to get the most product
from a 4 x 8 sheet.
The finish of the face was more than adequate.
The edges of the prodcut however were not nearly
as nice as the finish of the face. The edges were
obviously cut with a rotary tool, probably a table saw.
My guess is that the table saw and/or blade
was poorly tuned or out of tune. One particular
gouge on the edge of the piece I received
indicated that the machinist probably didnt allow
the piece to clear the table saw before trying to
remove the piece from the table.
I will be able to work around these shortcomings,
as I planned to machine this piece to a size that I
needed. But I guess I will need to treat this
as a rough piece of material that will need to
be machined on all edges to get the size I need.
Perfect fit in your miter gauge slot

I was a little sketical of this item at first for the jigs I wanted to build but once the item arrived and I tested the fit in my miter gauge slot on a Delta 52" Unisaw, what a pefect fit! There is absolutley no deflection or friction WHATSOEVER and it performs flawlessly over and over without the need for dry lubricants or silicone. Use these strips for some jigs on the table saw and I promise you will NOT be disappointed.
