The edger works great along ceilings, along baseboards where you want a straight edge. Just don't get too much paint on your roller.

It's true that with this kit you can paint edges without taping. This gadget makes perfectly straight edges along ceilings and trim. Never slopped or dripped. Made short work of the part of painting I hate and do badly. You need the whole rig because the roller gizmo has to ride in the rails of the paint tray.
Why bother

I bought the roller, applicator and paint tray already. I ordered 2 replacement rollers and got 2 more paint trays. You are paying for something you don't need. It was a waste of time trying to get this thing going so I just used a brush and did the trim free hand-faster, easier and not as messy. Don't bother buying this.
