Editorial Review
Let your select Sony HDMI components play in harmony with the simple setup and connectivity of the DAV-DX265 theater system. Highly advanced BRAVIA Theater Sync technology allows you to easily control select HDMI devices with one touch on the included remote control. And you'll be enjoying music and movies in no time with automatic digital cinema calibration that optimizes sound from every speaker. For crystal-clear video, the integrated high-performance 5-DVD/CD changer upscales standard 480p DVDs to 1080i resolution (requires compatible television) and conveniently features a dedicated Digital Media Port (DMP) for connecting optional DMP-compatible accessories. The DMP allows you to play music from a PC client device, Bluetooth receiver, audio docking station, Network Walkman(R) or iPod digital music player. The system also automatically optimizes sound characteristics for movies or music.

This is nice!! 2008-05-02
I bought this system to replace my 12 year old ONKYO 5.1 set-up with Infiniti center channel and Polk Audio sub. It performs pretty well compared to the ONKYO. I liked how simple it was to set-up. I was expecting miles of Monster Cable, like my old system, but that was not the case. For the price, this is a great system.

Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX265 Home Theater System
Very good quality for the price range. Would have liked a digital audio input connector. Digital audio outputs usually available from Sony Bravia TV and Satellite systems. Easy setup and speaker calibration using supplied mic.

Sony Bravia home theater system 2008-04-19
My Sony is everything I had expected and more. easy to hook up, everything is color coded, and the sound is great...I've never had a 5 cd changer before so I am enjoying the freedom of turning it on and enjoying the long period of time with continuous music...It's been great!

A Quality Product! 2008-04-10
I ordered this sys. after extensively searching in the begining level home theatre systems. it was shiped with in a week and hooking up with the tv was not a problem at all. all the wires are clearly marked and easy to connect tht a cave man can do it! for real. Both the audio and video quality is amazing! and use the HDMI cables instead of regular AV cables. they will cost u more but teust me its well worth the price!

You get what you pay for 2008-04-08
I bought this to go with my new plasma TV. Bought it for the price, but it sounds fine. Setup was easy and the DVD changer was kind of a bonus. Don't think much of the remote, but for the money, you can't beat it.

SOUNDS GREAT 2008-04-02
THIS SYSTEM DIGITAL SOUND IS GREAT , AND THE UPCONVERTER DVD PLAYER LOOKS GREAT TOO .
THE BAD THING IS THERES NO OPTIC SOUND PORT AND YOU CANT USE YOUR PS3
WITH IT.

Awesome for the price 2008-03-31
The Sony Bravia speaker system has produced sound beyond our expectations. It is a great value for the price. In spite of the directions saying it was easy to set up, it wasn't straight forward. The DVD, CD changer is not a blue-ray. We highly recommend this product!

Very nice Home Theater System, for the money. 2008-03-29
I was looking for a system that does it all. This one is very close to doing that, for me. It is not the most powerfull system but it provides ample volume for a large living room area. My son gave the system a thumbs up by stating that he could hear the sound from a movie out in our driveway. The system is very easy to set up. The wires are all color coded. The video output looks great even on my older analog TV. I do not have any problem with the speed of the DVD changer. I am not usually in that big of a hurry. As long as the movies sound good and look good. I am very happy with this purchase.

A good compliment to Sony's Bravia TV 2008-03-23
I recently replaced a 12 year old Mitsubishi rear projection TV with Onkyo/JBL sound system with a new Sony 52" Bravia and the HDX home theater. At $220 bucks the audio/DVD system is an excellent value. The system's sound quality is decent, but not on par with more powerful and expensive systems. If you're an audiophile, you won't be happy with this system. If you're like the rest of the 98% of us in the world, you'll probably be pretty pleased. A few cautionary tips: (1) This system is best in a small room. If you're creating a larger theater environment, consider stepping up to a more robust (i.e. loud) system. (2) While it wasn't very clear in all my on-line research, yes, you can set the HDX to turn on and off with the TV using one remote (mine's a Tivo). You'll need an HDMI cable and must set BOTH the TV and amplifier menus to take advantage of this important and convenient feature. (3) It was ultra-frustrating figuring out how to turn off the "feature" of sequential flashing of the front panel LED's on the amplifier. Sony's documentation is very sparse -- think they could spare a few photos of what to look for? Part of the menus for changing settings are displayed via the TV and part (this is where I got tripped up) on the HDX's internal display. Once I tumbled to that difference, I was able to turn off the cycling lights and now all is good. (4) My final quibble is not being able to adjust the sub-woofer, which at times can be a bit boomy.
