This printer is an embarrassment to the name of HP 2008-05-26
I spent a small fortune on this printer and the following have never worked properly, multiple sheet feeder, scanner, and every xth time I put an envelope thru, the machine jams and tells me I have a print head problem, which I have discovered is not true.

I have bought HP printers for 20 years and have never had the problems I have with this dreadful machine.

WORST PRINTER AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER 2008-05-17
I could easily put in CT Ann's review in here as her experience duplicated mine, although I quit after only three replacements instead of four. GREAT features -- when they work -- but clearly HP is selling a schlocky product so we will buy tons of expensive ink. For the time I have spent troubleshooting these units I could have bought the nicest printer out there, which I will this time. Like she said, if I could do no stars, I would.

HORRIBLE Paper Feeder (ADF)- Rarely Works 2008-03-21
We've used this machine at work primarily for sending and receiving faxes and the rare color copy job. We replaced our previous HP (only 9 months old) for a very similar reason this one might be going in the trash for. Our original HP AIO would grab multiple pages at a time. You could follow their tech support suggestions and it would work fine two times after and then back to pulling multiple pages. This particular machine (only 6 months old) pulls the pages through the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) crooked 7 out of 10 times. In the process of pulling the pages crooked, it almost always destroys your original. Using the blank paper cleaning treatment, the documents still pull crooked, but not nearly as bad as when your trying to actually use the machine for its intended purpose. I contacted tech support and walked through these steps once before. The machine worked for a month before it started acting up again. Now that process does not fix the problem at all. Where did the plain jane simply (not AIO) fax machines go? Why is it that none of their machines are made with easily movable/removable parts to help you get your jammed document out when almost all of them are prone to this problem? DON'T BUY!

Works Beautifully with Mac OS X Leopard! 2008-03-03
I've been using this printer for a few days, and I wanted to make sure I tested out all the features before I wrote a review. This isn't your typical multi-function, where the printer is good but the scanner sucks or vis versa. All of the features on this printer are top notch. I copy/printed a photo and when I handed both the original and the print back to the person who requested them- it was difficult to tell which was which. It's also very refreshing to FINALLY have a multi-function where all of the features work for Mac. Even the direct file feature, which I thought for sure would be Windows only, works very will with the Mac. The best part of this machine is that you can completely manage how you want to scan/copy/print/send to iPhoto etc.. easily with the screen and navigation butons. The only con is that it's a big printer, so you'll need a big desk or a dedicated printer stand.

Superb 2008-01-28
This is my eighth hp printer in fifteen years and they just keep getting better. I also found that it takes about ten mins. to refill all of the cartridges with a huge amount of ink. I found a company that makes after market ink cartridges that reset the chip every time you refill them. Sweet!

Horrible! 2007-12-15

Great Machine-Horrible mac Support 2007-12-11
I bought this printer and was very pleased with it. I upgraded to Leopard and it bricked everything. HP's response, "We're working on it but have no date when it will be available." If you are running Leopard DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.

Not good for printing photographs 2007-10-22
The photo printing quality even using HP paper is bad. If you are planning to print photos it is better to join Shutterfly (for example) and prepay bulk prints instead of buying ink and photo paper (my recommendation). The legal-size scanner is very good. I haven't tried two-side copies yet. I was expecting a better printer. I bought in Costco for 299+tax when it was on sale.

One gotcha - no OCR capability for WinXP & Word 2003 2007-10-12
I like the printer a lot and especially like the three separate ink cartridges for color inks. The network capability setup was easy including installation of software on a new Dell Vista desktop.

Major disappointment was lack of OCR capability on document scanning (which worked flawlessly on my previous All-in-One HP OfficeJet Pro 1150C and HP 6210. Spent an hour with HP technical support chat. Their advice, which I don't believe or accept, was to use Word 2002 as the target word processor. My current work around is to use Windows document scanning and then cut and paste OCR'd text into Word. It's a kludge but I might be stuck with it. Either that or spend another $150 for OmniPage.

HP L7650 All-in-one : Forget it 2007-09-18
I purchased this product for a customer as they had 4 users requiring the scanner and printer. All installed ok and HP updates came in successfully.
But on day 2 problems started - 1. XP PC's wouldn't shutdown until we stopped the HP Digital Imaging Software 2. Attempts to scan starting from the PC's did nothing apart from hang the application being used 3. Prints started coming out as mirror images
Tried fixes from forums, software re-installaion etc. etc. 1 week later product boxed and sent back for a refund....what a waste of my time
