    simple & nice 2008-09-04
if you love old fashion items this is your radio. very small, very simple functionalities (neither control remote nor equalizer) but with aux input and good sound. miss something? should work with batteries.

    Disappointed 2008-09-03
I bought this product for my office. After reading some of the reviews here I thought I had found the perfect AM/FM radio/iPod player. I'd hoped to play music at low to medium volume and perhaps listen to talk radio on occasion. Upon its arrival I opened the unit and was satisfied with its appearance. Unfortunately, once turned on it became immediately clear that the sound quality was not what I was hoping for. I had to turn the volume knob up 1/3 of the way before I could hear anything and when I raised the volume a bit more the speaker began to crack. This was with classical music but I experimented and the same happened with all types of music. I tried the FM and AM reception and it wasn't bad but the poor sound quality really overshadowed the unit.

sound is poor / radio reception even worse 2008-07-30
When playing this unit at lower volumes, the sound is very scratchy and poor. When playing it at a louder volume it gets better. When trying to use this to listen to the radio, the reception is very bad. Even with the attached antenna fully extended, my cheap little 10 dollar walkman pulled in stations a hundred times better than this. When my ipod is in its dock, the interface fails to work.

its a good 10 or 20 dollar radio, but at 50 bucks i had higher expectations.

    Great unit 2008-04-12
This is a nice little unit - with the wood grain cabinet, it looks nice - not like a cheap junky plastic piece. I haven't used the radio yet, mainly use it to listen to my iPod in bed. The look is so good I may get another for my office. Very nice little unit.

Very small, not portable, good clean sound 2008-03-29
This is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but has a nice clean sound even at its highest volume which is good for an office or single room. I also have the InMotion I3 for traveling and the sound from this is about as good. People comment on its retro looks. The speaker is covered with speaker mesh rather than being a hard cover so it's not meant to be a travel device. Nice table top radio. I am considering getting a second one.

Oddity: the big knob is the radio dial - the volume knob is one of the smaller dials.

    Great gift! 2008-01-07
I gave this to my dad for Christmas and he loved it! The sound is very clear. This is a great speaker for the price!!

It might have been nice if Amazon would have got it right. 2007-12-24
They make this item for the Zune and the Ipod. When i ordered specifically for the zune they sent the one for the Ipod. So when ordering beware you might not get the right one for your mp3 player.

    great sound 2007-09-02
I would completely agree with what the other person said about this unit. The sound is actually the best I've heard from a small system like this in this price range. Yeah it's not as long as some of the others but the sound itself is pretty good. If you like to actually hear your lows and your highs and are willing to deal with a lack of extras this is for you. I like to hear everything in the music which is why I picked this one. You can get from some stores for a little cheaper than here though.

    Not fancy but nice. 2007-06-29
I bought this iHome product a few weeks ago. No one on the Internet has reviewed it yet so I thought I'd take a swing at it.

    Pros:

    1. The cost- It is probably one of the least expensive iPod speakers on the market. It cost me around $50.00 (I didn't buy it on Amazon). As a result it doesn't have many extras (see below) but, like I said it doesn't cost that much.

    2. The looks- It's actually a pretty nice looking little unit almost retro. I like the big dial on it. It looks sharp wherever you put it. I've only found it in black (I have a white ipod) but that not a big deal for me.

    3. Good sound- I'm not an audiophile and this isn't a huge stereo system. However, it puts out good sound for the one speaker. The radio (AM and FM) also sound good.

    4. Charges the iPod well- Enough said. (It does say on the manual that it does not charge the 3rd generation iPods. However, my iPod is fairly new and if your iPod is that old maybe it's type for an upgrade anyway.)

    5. Light and easy to carry- Again enough said.

    Cons:

    1. Not many extras- No remote control (if you have an iPod dock you can run the dock though the auxiliary jack and use the apple remote. However you need to unplug the auxiliary jack if you want to use any other feature on the unit.) As I said, it comes with an auxiliary jack and cord. I plugged in a little Memorex mp3 player and it sounds great. No video out jack. No clock or alarm. It does come with adapters for just about any iPod.

    2. Antennas- The FM antenna is a wire that comes ouf the back of the ipod. There is a place to tuck it in if you don't need it extended. The AM antenna is plastic and plugs into the back of the unit. It's not that hard to remove it if you are going to carry it but it would better if the antennas on the unit were built in. The manufacturer needs to do a better job with this feature.

Overall- If you want something with a ton of features that will blast your music and make the walls shake, this is is not the unit for you. However, if you want something that's fairly inexpensive, looks nice and puts out decent sound this might be a unit to look at.
