So far so good

I have used this projector for my conf room for about 1 month now and it seems to work as expected. The cost was very competitive after the mail in rebate so I feel I made a successful purchase based on the cost. It blows out some strong heat so I hope that is normal and not a sign it is overloading itself. Overall I would recommend.
works just fine...

I bought this product few weeks ago.
It works great as it is. It has all basic inputs you need to connect any PC/laptop/cable.
Only thing is it does not have built in speakers. So you need a seperate speakers.
Brightness/lumens are enough to watch it on a room wall.
Go for it if you really dont want to spend too much!!
Excellent value

My family is very pleased with this projector. I had planned to purchase a new TV, but was amazed to see that I could buy a projector for slightly more than the cost of a 25" television. The images are very clear, and the controls are easy to understand. My 7-year-old son has no problem getting it started by himself, though he has a hard time remembering to point the remote control at the unit & not at the wall!
great classroom projector

I'm a teacher, and I purchased this projector three months ago for showing movies and PowerPoint presentations in my classroom. I'm so glad that I got it; having a projector has made a big difference. It works well and the projection is bright and crisp. I am really pleased with how light and compact it is--I didn't really expect these features when purchasing a relatively inexpensive projector. I don't use the remote control, but this would be a great feature if you were going to mount it from the ceiling. I do use a cable lock so I can step out of the classroom without worrying about it. Overall, the Viewsonic has been a great purchase.
Not an HD projector / No Zoom?

I am the lead installer for a company that installs RealHomeTheaters, so hopefully my experience can be of some help.
This projector has a native 800x600 SVGA resolution, so because it is a 4:3 format you will only have 480 lines of resolution in 16:9 (widescreen) mode. Also is has no zoom so the largest screen you can hope for is a 73" diagonal in a 15' deep room.
Unless you are looking for a super inexpensive projector for the kids to play video games on. Save up and consider a Mitsubishi HC1500.
Hope this helps get your RealHomeTheaters off the ground!

I know it will give me good service. The only problem it has is the projected image is a little askew. It is just for the work I do and I will just live with it. The lumins are great! There is no need to turn off lights in the room to get real bright readings.

We got this projector for home use to watch movies. The picture is very bright and sharp. We use it outside with the image projected on our garage door and it makes for a great experience, even with with some sunlight. The only downside is that it does not have a zoom but that's minor. It runs very quiet.
GREAT PROJECTOR

This is a great projector. I bought the same exact thing for my father. For the price it is very bright and clear.
Easy to use - especially for a non-techie

I purchased this item to use for seminars offered by my company, Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow. I was a little worried about whether I'd have trouble using it. But, I'm able to take it, my laptop and a change of clothes in my carryon luggage when traveling to seminars - so I am quite pleased with both the performance and size. I simply wrap the machine in bubble wrap and put it in my suitcase.
Get that Drive in movie experience
