super shaver 2007-01-05
Well engineered. Fits nicely in the hand. The pivoting head and curved cutting surface do a fine job of cutting even the neck hairs. Effective trimmer. Holds charge well. Being able to clean under water is convenient. Parts readily available over the net, even on older models.

Major Improvement!! 2006-12-21
Braun seems to have made a major improvement on this product. I have owned a 5614 for about 4 years now. At first I would only rate it at about a 2 or so for shave quality. This was also true after the first cutter/screen change. But on my second cutter/screen change suddenly the shave quality improved to about that of the great 3-screen Remingtons. The latest cutter blades have a yellow colored base, while the earlier ones were just black. If you get a new 5614 I suggest you check for this -and return the razor if you are at all unhappy with shave quality. Braun does know how to do better. As others have noted, battery and cutter life are quite good - but don't expect the screen to last the 18 months Braun suggest they will - 12 or 14 are more realistic.

Okay 2006-10-24
I have a beard and do not need to shave every day. I find that this razor is convenient in that you can clean it just by running it under water, but it does not give me a close enough shave in comparison to a regular razor. I need to go back and forth over my neck many times, and it never cuts the hairs close to my Adam's Apple close.
