Feeling it...

Grammy nominated. Enough said. Not a song on this album you can skip. Fantastic effort that has you feeling all the emotions in a span of 30mins. I'm not one for long winded reviews but this is one album that will take you awhile before you complain about not bringing out another album. Worth the buy!

another slept on cd

i bought it when it first came out and didn't really listen to it, but once i did i enjoyed every track on it. it's a very sexy album.

Tank starts off with Coldest describing just what he wants and in my opinion he gives it. This album is amazing because for once a guy tells his story and doesn't worry about what other people have to say. It isn't computerized lyrics that are made just for the Radio. It's real and thats what I love about it. I love every single song been listening to it everyday since the day it came out. It never leaves my cd player or my Ipod...Love It.

Show him some respect!

Tank does not get the respect he deserves. This guy continually puts out great albums. You can tell that he takes his time. Why is it that 40-year old men like R. Kelly put out songs like "I'm a Flirt" and sales go through the roof but someone putting out genuine R&B can't even get a decent record deal. Tank is signed to blackground records. This album is quickly becoming a classic. I'm not saying that he should be up there with Luther, but he's definately better than all the Trey Songz and Ne-Yos of the world.

Near perfect, But!

I can listen to the majority of the tracks on this CD uninterupted. Although I feel that Tank made a grave and immature mistake by putting 2 vulgar skits in between songs, something that could have been played out loud at a park or cookout etc went wrong when that happened. He missed out on some mainstream action with that nonsense.It is just so out of place, what in the world was he or his producer thinking. Mainly I program my CD PLAYER with my favorites and listen to this when I am with my husband. It can sure light a fire in that department.

I enjoy the entire CD except for those horrible skits, Wedding song and Them girls- (it's a song about strippers). If it was not for the above mentioned flaws I would have given this CD A 5, Because the brother CAN DEFINATELY SING AND HE Lays his heart and soul out for all to see on most of the songs.

All I got to say is dayum--Tank really did it with this album. I bought his first album when it came out and really loved that one, but this is different, more soulful and hypnotic, this is the type of music you want to be playin in the background when you are about to get your groove on. The first time I listened to it, I thought it was ok, but when you listen to the lyrics and that sexy voice --mmmmm--this is definitely worth your time and money. Love me some Tank!

The music on Tank's Sex, Love & Pain CD is so creative. The Wedding Song, for example.. Just don't try to play it on your wedding day.. If you are looking for a "Right after Break Up CD," this is it.

Open your eyes and stop sleeping on him

Tank has done a great job putting this together. We already know he can write, direct, and produce for others but he's now proven he's good on his own. I have really enjoyed this album. This is one of the few R&B albums of late that you can listen to from beginning to end without skipping tracks. I recommend buying this album if you're debating.

"It ain't WORTH..."

Tank is one of those artists that relies too much on the concept of style over substance. In other words, I have never had a problem listening to his vocals, but his lyrics often leave much to be desired. Such is the case with his third album, Sex Love & Pain.

As usual, the best track is the first single: "Please Don't Go". But there are still some other great songs, like "My Heart" and "Heartbreaker". There's also "I Love U", a rare occasion where Tank actually SUCCEEDS in creating a good club joint (more on that later).

The problem Tank has is that he tries too hard to be hardcore, and it just doesn't work right most of the time, like on "Who Dat". And when he talks about sex, there are more flaws: "My Body" is corny, and "When" is way too graphic (especially the second verse). Furthermore, the uptempo tracks on here are usually uninspired, like "Coldest" and the obligatory Timbaland collabo "I Love Them Girls" (which isn't helped by Tim's interpolation of Ying Yang Twins' "Wait" at the end of it). And "I Hate U" is a little too, well, "fun" for its subject matter.

There are also a few pointless skits that follow select songs on here. But the funny thing is, this is still his best album. Buy Sex Love & Pain only if vocals are all you care about, because I personally would prefer it if Tank had a great voice AND great lyrics.
