Excellent price, great pump. 2008-10-08
I have a nine month old son & pump once per day to build up my stockpile of milk for using in bottles while I'm away, mixing with cereal, and donating the rest to the mothers milk bank. My Medela Pump in Style stopped working the other morning, and I was desperate for a new pump. I read some of the reviews on this site & decided on the Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump. I have used it a few times, and am very pleased with the results. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles of the Medela pump, but I am a stay-at-home mom & don't need the extras. I would definitely recommend this for stay-at-home moms.

It gets the job done 2008-10-01
I ordered the breast pump for my grand neice and her mother. I was informed the pump was very easy to use and just as easy to clean. It is in constant use. I would recommend this product, and the sellers.

Good value, with a few quirks 2008-09-25
This compares well with the medela pump in style, especially at the price. It pumps just as well but has a few quirks: 1) it's a little louder (with a syncopated beep, for that '80s drum kit feel), possibly because it doesn't have the casing of the bag, 2) the collection bottles take 4 ounces rather than 5, so you might need to change them more frequently when pumping, 3) the bottle/pump parts are a little more fiddly to put together and keep track of when you're sterilizing, re-assembling, storing everything. Frankly, none of these seemed too big a deal--certainly not worth the price difference. Some advantages: 1) it's a lot cheaper and pumps just as well; 2) you can pick your own bag for it, instead of the hi-i'm-a-discreetly-packaged-breast-pump bags that the medela comes in; 3)since it's not packaged up in a bag, it's actually more portable.

Love it 2008-09-18
This is the fith breast pump that I have purchased so I know a little about them. This pump in my opinion is better than the Medela hospital grade. I get just as much milk in the same amount of time, and it's half of the price as the Medela pump in style. It's also the same pump as the Ameda purely yours which was recommended by my lactation specialist. It's very gentle and it's also very quiet which is a huge plus!!

Great Item!! 2008-09-13
This pump is fantastic!! It works perfectly and is easy to transport. I use it at home, at work, and in the car when necessary (don't worry, hubby is driving). The pump is not too loud so it is not embarrassing to use in the ladies room at work. In addition, their customer service is outstanding!! I ordered some replacement parts (I use it a lot) directly from their website. The price was extremely reasonable and they arrived quickly. I definitely recommend this pump!!

A bit more information 2008-09-12
Most of it's been said already, so I'll try to keep this fairly brief. This is the same as the Ameda Purely Yours, so make sure to check reviews on it as well.

I use this pump about three times a day in an effort to build up a frozen milk stash before returning to work. While the power adapter is large and heavy, the pump and horns are surprisingly light and small. The whole thing fits nicely in the diaper bag we were given in the hospital, with room to spare. The parts that come into contact with milk (horns, rubber valves, silicone membranes) wash up easily with a bottle brush and unscented dish soap, and fit on any standard sized bottle you'd like to use. I figure that the milk's in the horns only briefly, so BPA contact is minimal, and using third-party bottles lets you avoid contact there.

It's no louder than the Medela swing, which I started with, but it's a double pump, and the horns feel comfier to me.

Just a few hints I haven't seen yet:

-If you cut slits down the front of a sturdy bra, you can insert the horns, and pump hands-free. If said bra has a lace or fabric overlay, push that back rather than cutting through it, and use it to cover the slits when wearing the bra normally. There are instructions online on using hair elastics to suspend pumps from a nursing bra, also.

-Alternating between high speed/low suction, and low speed/high suction got the most milk for me. Just switch when it stops flowing. It's more comfortable than consistent high speed and/or suction, too. I love that the pump has separate controls which makes this possible.

-The sample Lansinoh milk bags that came with this pump fit in Playtex drop-in bottles. Didn't see that noted on the package, but it's good to know.

-If you pump as much as you can, and then feed your baby, he or she will still get enough to eat. The best pump is no match for an infant, who will be able to get milk the pump couldn't, so if you're trying to increase your supply, this may help.

just as good 2008-09-01
I was using a Medela PIS for several months, but someone decided to steal it from the pump room at work, so I was left with only an Avent Isis manual pump for 3 weeks. The PIS worked pretty wel, but it was a pain in the booty to lug that big old bag around everywhere. The Isis was ok, but it took forever to get a few ounces of milk. Both pumps hurt my nipples.

I read the Lansinoh reviews and decided to try it out. I love this pump. It works just as well as the Medela, it's MUCH lighter to carry and it doesn't pinch me like the others did!

My only complaint is that the breast milk storage bottles Lansinoh sells don't fit into the pump's bottle base - I don't get that decision on their part, but since the Medela didn't have a bottle base and the Isis leaked all the darn time, I guess it isn't a big loss.

Loooove this pump.

Great bang for your buck! 2008-08-19
WAY more ecinomical than the other pumps, it works teriffic! Zero complaints. Don't waste your money on the more expensive ones, this one gets the job done.

Great product, but noisy 2008-08-17
This pump works great and quickly. Its easy to clean (best if you have a steamer) and easy to use; however, the noise coming from it is so loud. I wish there was a way for it to be quieter. Still, it is reasonably priced and a good quality product.

Great pump! 2008-07-28
I did some research on pumps before buying this one. It has a closed system which means that milk can't back up into the tubing and machine. This is much more hygenic. Also, I bought this based on other reviews on other sites. I'm glad I bought it because it has worked great for me. I use it almost every day and no problems. I can both breasts in under 10 minutes with it. I like this pump also for the price. It's half the price of some of the other highly reviewed pumps out there.
