Great collection

All the hits in one album. It just makes you realize how good these guys are. Some people prefer the songs in their original album context, but in these days of music pick n' mix, it really doesn't matter. What you're getting is the best of the Police at a great price - can't argue with that!

Great selection, fair sound

My title sums it up. This collection is a nice balance of Top 40, rock radio hits, and album tracks from the Police. My only gripe is the uneven quality of the recordings. Given the available remastering technology I expected a fuller, richer sound. It's okay, ... but that's also it's shortcoming...it's JUST okay.

Where's the Beef?

2 CD's....only 20 songs? And the 20 most obvious songs to boot. Where's the beef?!?!?! What a waste of money. The Police are a 5 Star band and deserve better than this meer sampler product. If all you want are the hits, this is for you. If you want The Police, spend your $$ on one of their original CD's. The CD reeks of a record company wanting to make a few more bucks off of the unsuspecting.

Great, but the CDs are too short

I love this product. I've listened to both CDs in my car numerous times. My only complaint is that both CDs are rather short in terms of playtime, and I can't help but wonder why they didn't just put everything on one CD to save us the trouble of switching between them. In other words, I love the music, but I don't like how the record company decided to market this.

You saved me from only liking Broadway songs for life with "Every Breath You Take." After EBYT, I listened to all the other hits, and then Sting's solo stuff, and then countless other artists in several genres, and my collection has and continues to skyrocket. I adore the Police now, and am proud to own this anthology. I am also happy to say that I will be seeing you guys in July, on my parents' 20th anniversary no less. Oh well.
PS: I LOVE YOU STING!

One of My Favorite Bands Ever

The Police Anthology 2007-12-29
This had all the best Police songs I was looking for. Almost all the songs on here were great, plus it was a great deal. In addition to the two CDs, there was also a fold-out poster, which was a great added bonus. Overall, this is truly a great find.

Relive or create new memories 2007-11-10
Pop these two CDs in and think back to when you first heard these songs on the radio or where you were when you first heard it. These songs prove timeless.

If you are just getting to know the Police, then enjoy what so many people have loved for 30 years!

Message in a Box: The Complete RecordingsThe Police Greatest Hits

I guess this was ok to release as a 30th Anniversary tribute, but I was so hoping for way more than this. "Message In A Box" which is a more complete anthology has much more and is worth paying the extra dollars for, but even that is lacking so many tracks from The Police. The "Brimstone and Treacle" Tracks aren't available on MIAB and none of the "Ghost In The Machine" Demos either. There needs to be a Complete Police anthology for all of us die hard Police fans. We already own everything they have ever done plus a plethera of Sting's solo music. We really would love to see a real Anthology. Here's hoping they do the unplugged session they postponed on MTV and it ends up on a much more complete anthology too. Talk of a new album is being discussed as well.But this anthology will intoduce The Police to a lot of younger fans who have started to catch on to their wonderful music.

Excellent sound quality and value for the money 2007-09-02
The most complete collection is the 4-disk "Message in a Bottle," which is really nice and recommended if you're still not satisfied!

This is a taste of the best of Police and it's definitely the best-engineered Police CD I have. The sound quality is beautiful. Sting sounds like he's sitting right next to me. (Wish he was!)
