Bittering Agent is horrible

This works well as a spray but soon afterwards, the room will be filled with stinky and bitter air. You can taste the bitterness in your mouth and when you lick your lips. It takes a while to go away too.

I used to use this kind of canned air to clean my keyboards, computer fans and other things around my office. Only recently the canned air makers have begun to include a "Bittering Agent" in canned air in order to prevent inhalant abuse. The problem is that it makes the canned air unusable. This particular brand, "3M Dust remover" is sitting on my desk right now and I can't imagine I will ever use it again.
After only a few squirts, my office smells horrible - pungent and tangy. You can't get the taste out of the back of your throat for quite some time. It has got to be horrible for your health. I am terribly disappointed that the compressed air manufacturers have ruined this product in order to prevent slack-jawed morons from frying their brains.
I remember a few years ago there was a lot of news and "awareness" campaigns about how babies were drowning in 5 gallon, plastic buckets. The kind that paint or pickles come in. Some people even went so far as to suggest that the government pass a law mandating all bucket makers put holes in the buckets so that they wouldn't hold water. Fortunately they were laughed out of the room.
Unfortunately the compressed air makers succombed to demands to make the air so putrid that nobody wants to be around it. It has totally lost its usefulness and I will now look for alternatives.
In general, canned air is great! The kind with a bettering agent in it is nasty and putrid and horrible. Stay away. I'd have rated it with zero stars, but I don't think you can do that.
It is usable outside, but most of the things I want to clean with a squirt of air, are all wired up and connected and not easy to cart outside for cleaning. Things that are easy to remove from the room go out to the garage and get a serious blast form my air compressor. The usefulness of having a portable can of air to use in enclosed areas is totally compromised by the bitter additive.
Absolutely *NOT* recommended.
Excellent for Keyboards

This is a great way to clean dust off delicate places all around the computer without having to drag around a vacuum cleaner and it doesn't harm the computer in the process.
Use caution and good ventilation.
Recommended.
