The Oral-B Toothbrush 950tx is a good product. Its the same quality that you would buy in a store. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a low cost electrical toothbrush.
Great product and great buy 2008-06-01
I just replaced my old Braun with the same, or similar model. It's warranteed for 2 years, the old one lasted for 12. The small brush head is effective at getting into tight spaces around the back teeth and keeping periodontal disease at bay. Has a very small footprint also. Highly recommended and a great price.
An addictive brush 2008-03-13
I was instructed by my dentist to get a power toothbrush. He specifically said an Oral-B rechargeable not a battery type. I have used it for two years, maybe more and think it is great. I find I cannot even use a "manual" toothbrush anymore as it does not feel like my teeth are clean. The dentist has also noticed a difference.
It appears that they last about two years before the battery will no longer hold a charge. When I went looking for a replacement, all the usual places like Walmart and Walgreens, wanted $70 or more for what seemed to be the same functionality. I was happy to find a reasonably priced one on Amazon.
One caveat, the replaceable brushes are not cheap. Also, until you get used to it, brushing can be a little messy
Oral-B bargain

After using a similar Oral-B electric toothbrush for years and loving it, that one gave out and I replaced it with this unit. It is nearly identical to my old one, but it comes with the small travel charger (which I really appreciate) but lacks the 'charging' light on the unit and doesn't come with a travel case. The battery doesn't seem to last as long as the one on the old unit, but it still lasts a few days between charges. Overall, it is a good value purchase.

My husband and I have used this excellent toothbrush for many years, also approved and recommended by our dentist.
The only complaint I have is that the packaging is extrememly difficult to open. One could easily slice a finger or puncture the product, because a scissor or tool is required to open it!

Gets funky but works 2008-03-03
There aren't that many options for electric toothbrushes these days. There are the old fashioned ones that try to move up and down as if they were your arm. Then there are a few circular ones, increasingly out of favor. Most are like Braun, having the circular brush, sometimes with additional bristles, but a vibrating motion.
This one is as good as any. The biggest problem has to do with the attempt to eliminate all open electrics by charging through induction. Remarkably, this works well and the toothbrush holds its charge quite well. But something about the electro-magnetic field skankifies the residual water, which, so far as I can tell, mutates bacteria that were caught from your mouth into a grey-brown slime that grows exponentially. Like any contamination, once it is has bedded down in your unit, it is hard to get rid of.
The skank doesn't simply live on the area between the charger and the brush. It also lives inside the works, and especially where there is a gap between the motor unit and the replaceable brush. Now Braun did something very smart and enclosed a set of colored rings with every brush. If you haven't figured this out, the idea is that you place them over the bottom of the brush attachment, so that you can swap them in and out and tell whose is whose.
This works well in principle, but not everyone is very good about it. I don't really mind finding that my toothbrush has been used by my lady friend--okay, I'm not crazy about it, but it isn't too gross. But her son would obviously forget to change the brushes before using it, and would then deny it. Unless you are in a family of angels, you're going to find that having one motor unit for the whole family just doesn't work. So then those inferior personal electric toothbrushes might come into their own. [30]

The service was effective and delivery was on promised schedule. The product is working fine. We had Braun products before and like its reliability. The Amazon online service may be a bit over efficient. When I recieved my e-mail notice, I noticed two e-mails per product I ordered. They were duplicated order and there was no way to cancel, but Amazon customer services took care of the cancellation later. I only got one product per ordering.

So far so good. This has been wonderful to have a backup electric toothbrush.
I was originally charged more than I thought I should be charged on shipping for this item, but was pleasantly surprised when I got a credit back on my credit card for some of the shipping expense.
I would buy from this vendor again.

This toothbrush is a quality product that charges rapidly and does an excellent job of cleaning teeth. The rotary action massages the gum line and the bristles get any lodged food particles. Multiple users can easily use the toothbrush by interchanging their personalized removable brush heads.
