Great Gloves... Prefer Advanced MMA
2008-08-24
These are great sparring gloves, and just as stated, they promote good punching technique. I would prefer if the strap stretched for a tighter fit though. I only use these for sparring; I have a separate pair for the bag. For that I would say I like the Everlast Advanced MMA gloves a little better but these do the trick.
How else should training gloves work?

These training gloves work very well. They are easy to get on with the one velcro strap. They're weighted well and provide good support for those active training sessions. I use mostly with my punching bag and have no complaints. Plus the color is nice. Two thumbs up...I mean 5 stars.

The only thing I would like to change would be the color of the item. But as far as performance, they are top notch and very dureable.

I'm not sure what I was looking for, but I bought these adorable gloves for kickboxing class. They've been perfect so far; and they're so cute. No complaints
Good fit for women

I bought these to replace the Everlast Women's Pro Style Training gloves (pink) which I found too tight and uncomfortable, and returned to Amazon. With wraps on, these regular gloves are snug and a decent fit for my small hands. I use the gloves for focus mitt work with my trainer and so far, have found them decently padded. They are made of vinyl and are budget priced, so I expect a limited lifespan.
NOT a Sparring Glove. Strictly bag/cardio

If you are going to be sparring, you will need to buy a sparring glove with more support on the knuckles. Better for you and your opponent. The foam structure on this pair are for a Bag. A nice bag glove - get 16oz. However, get the best glove you can afford now and think about the need to upgrade soon. On ours, the threads after 2 months are beginning to tear apart and will soon be donated to the new members pile, to encourage them to buy a nice new pair.
awesome high quality gloves

These everlast training gloves are fantastic. I have another pair of training gloves made by TKO and they don't even come close to comparing with these ones. These gloves have excellent wrist support and naturally conform to the shape of the fist for more comfortable training. The shock absorption is outstanding. I have the Everlast H20 80 pound water heavy bag and when I struck the bag with these gloves, I heard the crisp "WHAP" sound like one would hear when hitting a baseball. Amazing... I am a training boxer and I have one tip for everyone. When buy buying training gloves, buy two pairs. Buy one 12 oz pair, and one 16 oz. pair. Or better yet, buy a pair of weighted super bag gloves. The heavier pair of gloves is designed to be used to help build endurance and power, and the light pair is designed to build hand speed. Just before a fight, bring the 16 oz pair to train with because when you fight with a pair of 10 or 12 oz gloves, your hands will feel as light as a feather and you will have power like you never thought possible. When buying boxing equipment, stick with the best, buy Everlast...
