Great little generator!!!

Just received this generator and it works great!! I had to voice my 2 cents on this little guy as I too was skeptical after reading some of the other bad reviews that I had to post my review to help you out. A couple points:
The voltage meter does sway a little but is pretty much constant on loads (items being powered by the generator). Not nearly as much as another reviewer posted. He must have been trying to power 1/2 his house on it.
It is a little noisy but nothing like my 5500 watt unit I use for power outages. This would be my only knock on the unit. The engine is relatively quiet it's the exhaust noise that makes a rattle sound.
Unlike some posters, my package arrived in perfect condition, no damage to the box or the alleged spark plug. Started up in 2 pulls!!!
I will be using this unit for my campground equipment that might need power as well as to power my 3A pitching machine during my son's baseball practices. It does what it's advertised to do and then some. CAn't go wrong in my opinion.

1250 Generator
I received mine two days ago and am very pleased. It arrived in perfect condition with no damage to the inner box. It was well packed. My initial impression that it is of reasonable quality for the price paid ( $112.00 with free shipping).
After fueling with premix the machine started on the third pull. After few minutes warm up/ run in I loaded the machine. I tested the machine with a space heater with 600W, 900W and 1500W selectable load settings. It handled the 600 and 900W setting just fine with reasonable noise. The 1500w setting was clearly overloading the machine with out put voltage dropping to ~90V.One thing that I noticed is that this small machine's output voltage (and likely frequency) will swing allot with load changes (not surprising) .
I plan on using it to supply power to my conversion van for lighting and battery charging. It's small size will allow it to fit in a small stowage area formally used to stow a propane cylinder. It may power the small space heater as well. I am not sure that it can handle the refrigerator and water heater. I will not be using to power any electronic devices with out going though some sort of surge suppressor or power conditioner such as a UPS.

Don't waste your money

I, too, thought that at this price, what could I lose. It should at least provide adequate service for three or four outings per year. WRONG!!! I was able to start it and let it run for five minutes soon after I got it, just to make sure it worked. IT HASN'T STARTED SINCE. It is getting fire from the spark plug and getting gas, but nothing. It only has a ninety (90) day warranty, so check it out quickly, and then the shipping is a third of the original price. Bottom line: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Spend another $200 and get a Sears or some other reputable maker....at least you can return them to your local dealer.
Good Little Generator 2008-05-07
I purchased this as a second generator to my 8500 watt portable generator. The 8500w is hooked up through a transfer box to power up my house in the event of a power failure. This will keep my well pump and fridge running but I don't need them on 24/7, so I brought this little 1250 to power lights and a fan when the other is turned off. With gas being $3.50 a gal I need something I can leave on during the evening and night without burning up 40 bucks a night in fuel.
Well I received my generator in a few days but it did not generate. The engine ran fine but no power output. After playing around with it for a few minutes with no results, I called up Amazon. They quickly sent me out a new one with 2 day shipping "no questions asked" and emailed me a return shipping label for the defective one. The new one arrived today and works fine. I powered up a drill and recip saw with no problems. I going to try my compound saw tomorrow.
I was impressed with Amazons quick replacement service and return policy. The generator appears to be well made, and for the price you really can't go wrong.
It works 2008-06-30
Received in great condition and it started on the first pull. A bit noisy, but not offensive. A lot quieter than a gas weed whacker! Some smoke as is expected in a 2 cycle motor. Easy to carry and fuel. It makes the light bulbs and TV work. What else do you need?
Best $113.00 generator I have ever bought 2008-06-11
I needed a small generator to use when I don't need my big one. I have had one similar to this one (1000) watt, (looks identical except red in color). Ordered this one on Friday night with the super saver shipping and it arrived Wednesday morning by UPS ground. Amazon had put the generator box in a larger box with some wadded paper and arrived in perfect condition. Put in the gas/oil mix and it cranked on 4th pull. After putting a load on it,it ran at a near constant 120 V. Haven't tried the DC, but don't really need it. This one seems to be running rich, the exhaust is loud, and there is definitely a ringing sound from the exhaust.
I noticed that when I turned off the gas valve and it leaned out, the exhaust quited down and the ringing stopped (Sounded like my old one). As soon as the warranty is up, I am going to lean it out a little until it runs as it should.

This unit works as advertised. I was impressed with the quality and especially the price. It is very quiet. I orginally bought it as an emergency backup for lights, etc. but found many more uses as time went on. It's very light and easy to carry around.
Do not buy Generator!!!! 2008-05-31
I purchased a Blue Max Generator but it does not generate. When I recieved it, I started it and it ran great... HOWEVER, it does not generate electricity. I read the instructions, check the breakers, and did anything reasonably possible and it does not work. Of course waited more than 30 days to use it so I am stuck... What a waste... If you still want this item call me I have a bairly used one for sale....
Little Engine That Could 2008-05-28
This was a great product for a great price. I have used this twice in the past two months. The first use was for a camping trip and another time for a tailgate. Each time the generator started up right away and was able to power the lights and TV we were using. It is really easy to move around and ran for 4-6 hours on one tank of gas. A perfect solution if you need to power a few simple electronics.
