Smart, Powerful Design
nüvi is built with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 4.8 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 6.6 ounces. Great product 2008-04-28
As some others have noted, this is a great product and great value. I give it four stars due to the low price, great performance and ease of use.
Didn't give it five because it doesn't give audible announcements of next street to turn on. But it's really not necesssary unless you live in a city that doesn't have mostly 90-degree turns. It shows the street name on the top of the screen anyway, but it can cause some confusion when going over the top of a cloverleaf exit when it tells you to turn right too early, which would put you the wrong direction on the street you are exiting to. So next time I would pay up to about $20 more for the text to speech feature. The wide screen is definitely worth it.
I bought mine on Amazon for $181 a tremendous bargain! (Purchased in March 2008.)
Some notes:
1. It comes with everything you need, a suction cup holder that sticks nicely to the windshield and a power cord that plugs into cigarette lighter plug. The battery lasts about a couple of hours. The graphics are just great, as is the screen layout and ease of use.

2. For a carrying case, I went over to the Dollar Store and got a little zipper case for general use for $1, and it holds everything nicely.

3. I also bought the charger that plugs into wall socket for charging in case we are tourists somewhere and need to charge when not in car. But if you live in a safe neighborhood, you can easily charge it in the car. The unit is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and can be used when walking very nicely.

4. Media says they are forced to lower prices due to free GPS in cell phones now, which makes this an exceptional bargain!


Garmin Nuvi 200W 2008-04-28
Garmin nüvi 200W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS NavigatorVery good GPS, Few minor shortcomings. It does not let you select a different route than the one it calculates. It ran pefectly through a roundabout in PA, was clueless in a roundabout in VA (would love to know why?). The arrival time is very acccurate and helps to plan stops in route. Amazon price was very good and 2 day shipping was very reasonable. New 255W coming in June looks interesting, but trip was in April.


Idiot Proof 2008-04-26
This is the second one I bought. So impressed with the simplicity of operation and the high quality image I bought this one for my wife a week after I bought the first one. (Third generation of Garmin products I've purchased and by far the easiest to use!)

Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Works well but do have a problem with it picking up a satellite in a timely fashion. Sometimes 2 to 3 miles from starting when it finds where I am at!!!
Data not nearly up to date in fast growing areas but better even than on my 2007 vehicles built in GPS. NIce if u have a passenger along who can work it while u do the driving.
