Great color, great quality, great cushion....not so great smell. So bad I haven't been able to use it since I bought it - still "airing" out that amine (fishy) odor. Stinks terribly even a couple of weeks out of the packaging. Hoping for warmer weather so I can hang it outside! Did not have this problem with my old, cheapy yoga mat.
Pleased!!

I bought this mat because I wanted one made of natural materials. I have not been disappointed. Many of my students like the look of it, and are impressed when they find out it is natural.
The only thing I have against the mat is that when I practice on our wooden floor at the studio, it builds up a really good static charge that gets me when I pick up the mat at the end of class!!! Otherwise, it is a grippy delight, and allows me to hold my postures as long as I want. I would highly recommend it for others.
Gaiam Oasis Yoga Mat

I thought I was getting a great yoga mat, but as soon as I started using it in yoga class, I went back to my original Gaiam yoga mat. The Oasis mat smelled horribly of rubber (not a good thing in the child's or dog poses), but worst of all, I kept slipping on the mat and I strained my body in trying to stay in place. Also, the mat kept sliding on the floor making my ability to stay upright even harder. The Premium sticky mat (the striped one) performed much better and costs significantly less even though I'm still looking for a better non-slip mat. Don't waste your money on the Oasis.
Toxic Yoga Mat

The smell from this yoga mat is toxic! I'm not sure why my experience was so much worse than the other reviewers, but I cannot recommend this mat. I tried airing out the mat outdoors (couldn't for more than a few hours as I live in a harsh winter climate, it was snowing, and am apartment city dweller) and washed it twice, but NOTHING would get rid of the smell. The smell made my sinuses burn and swell. HORRIBLE!!!! I ended up throwing it out because it was making me ill.
Perhaps if you lived somewhere where you could keep the mat outdoors for several days, this would not be an issue for you. Unfortunately, this was not an option for me.
Luxury Yoga

I love this mat. It's more gorgeous than the picture can show. The mat itself feels remarkable with its flexible fabric, fine-stitched grooves that provide extra traction, and thick padding. I frequently leave it lying out in the living room, not just because I want to do yoga on it every day, but occasionally I'll just want to step onto to it and can't help but do a vinyasa or three.
