Very handy product but beware the "free" postage service 2008-10-05
Great service and super product. Only one concern: What they tell you before you buy is that you get a "free" Endicia postage account. What they don't tell you is that you can only buy labels that work with this account from Endicia. Including shipping the labels cost about $.10 each so, not exactly a "free" service.

DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution Is A Great Time Saver 2008-07-02
I've been using this product for about a month and the only reason I gave it a 4 rating instead of 5 is because there is no power off switch on the printer (which I knew before I purchased it) and the scale tends to jump around a bit (between 3 & 4 tenths of an ounce) with no objects on it. I have to zero it and get my item on it before it starts adding on the extra weight. Very happy with Amazon's Great prices and Excellent Service!!!

Great Tool 2008-06-14
Have had this item for about a month. Upgraded to Vista, and had to dump the old printer as software wasn't compatible. Dymo really stuck it to the consumers by doing this, but am very happy with the new printer and software. We use the postage printing capability, and really like it. The addition of the scale is excellent. No more heading to the post office for packages under 5 lbs. It was easy to install and setup. Label printer is also excellent.

Excellent alternative to postage meters! 2008-06-02
Bought the twin turbo/5 lb scale combo about a month ago and it is excellent. The free Dymo Stamps service is great for avoiding postage meter rental fees and should meet most small business and personal needs. The Endicia additional cost service for $9.95 is still much cheaper than a meter rental. You can avoid the high cost for blank stamps (and other Dymo labels) by buying them on EBAY (less than 2 cents per stamp or label if you buy a large enough quantity). Good-bye Pitney & Ascom and good riddance!

Didn't work on my Mac 2008-05-27
I consider myself a techie on a Mac and PC, but prefer a Mac. Tried to get the Twin Turbo to work, carefully following the installation instructions, but no go. Even updated the software and restarted the Twin Turbo and the Mac (G4 w/10.4.11) but still no go. Decided to test the printer on a XP PC and everything went fine. Conclusion... the Mac version is finicky, so be willing to use a PC, just in case. If that is not an option, then be prepared to return the LabelWriter.

Love it! 2008-05-06

My Dymo is Dynomite! 2008-01-21
This is a great time saver. I have a small business and this investment was perfect for me to improve my time.

An Excellent Value 2007-12-10
PRO: I echo the two prior reviewers. The combination of the Twin Turbo Labelwriter and the USB scale is a great value. The Labelwriter software installed without any problems. To use Dymo Stamps (which requires no monthly fee), a separate download is required, but that software also installed without any problems, and creating a postage account was easy with a credit card. The scale was recognized instantly, and it is great to be able to print the precise postage. The scale works by itself without the software (giving weight only, not postage amount). With a 9-volt battery, the scale works with the computer off. Having two spools allows one spool to be dedicated for labels and another for stamps, if you wish. I am just learning to use the label template designer, but my initial assessment is very positive.

CON: This printer cannot detect the size and type of labels in the printer, so you have to make sure the setting in the software matches the actual label. Also, you have to notice which spool (left or right) it wants to print to. The cost of labels (including shipping) does add to the effective cost of the postage. [All of these "problems" are outweighed by the convenience and added productivity.]

Excellent So far! 2007-12-03
I've only had this system two weeks, so far I'm way beyond very impressed!

The Good - Small 8"x8" footprint, fast & quiet printing, no ink replacements ever needed and you have stamps and labels ready to print. The software is easy to install & use, and there are no monthly fees (unlike Pitney Bowes). Print one stamp or run a roll 10 or 15 $.41 stamps. My computer is always on and I can print a fast $.41 stamp in less than 10 seconds. Really! With a package or envelope over one ($.41) ounce, the scale automatically calculates the correct postage and offers 1st Class or Priority Mail options in seconds! The label software is just as fast and easy to use! Type in the name & address and the software will find the complete zip code and save it for the next time. You can even import your existing address book.

The Bad - No insurance or registered mail is offered for the free 'no monthly fee plan'. However if you pay $9.99 a month through Endicia, Dymo's postal partner, a another software program and these options are available. Still less money than any competitor such as Stamps.com or Pitney Bowes.

Summary - Very Cool, affordable, time saving, the future is here now.
After your initial purchase, the cheapest way to buy stamps!

Great Small Business Solution 2007-09-02
I purchased this to expedite my small office mailings and it has lived up to its description. The set up was quite easy on my Mac, as was establishing an account for the postage. Having access to two types of labels at once is very handy as you can print out an envelope label and postage without changing any spools. No more struggling to get paper out of my paper tray, properly feed an envelope and then have to refill the letter tray. The time I save sending letters with this system will pay for itself in a very short time.
