I just saw this the other night and cannot tell you how good it is. For anyone growing up in Los Angeles, this is a definitive watch!
Party Like There's No Tomorrow

This is the kind of edgy and original independent film I like to find when I rent something I've never heard of. It's a very funny and unapologetically hedonistic guide to partying in the bars, clubs and private parties of Hollywood. Done in a mock documentary style, the narrators use the absurdly serious and pedantic tone of educational movies shown in schools -the kind that warn against the very kind of behavior shown in this movie.
This movie is done as a "how to" guide to surviving a nightlife of drinking, drug use and casual sex. Needless to say, if a humorous approach to these subjects, along with lots of bad language, is something that offends you, you should not see this film. There are sequences showing a bouncer school, where the bouncer trainees learn how to look properly menacing, a lesson in the etiquette of passing around marijuana joints, and tips on how to sneak into invitation-only events. This is not a profoundly meaningful film, nor an illustration of the most responsible way to live your life on a regular basis, but it's an honest and hilarious study of the subculture of serious partiers.

Weather you're a vetran partier or a freshman fist timer this movie will crack you up hard. A well written how to guide that could soon be come a cult classic. A must have in any partiers library. 5 stars!
Different type of movie with some good laughs

Most filmmakers bill their film as being unique and typically most arent even close however this film is something different in a good way. Boys and Girls Guide is set up just like the title says as almost a "how to" or guide on how to get down in LA. Some of the jokes are universal to partying and some are specific to the area.
Production vaule is decent for a straight to video feature. If you are expecting the production vaule of a studio movie you wont get it here. Indie film fans that "get" these types of movies will love it.

I LOVED it!!! I couldn't stop laughing! There were so many moments where I could relate to what the actors were going through. Very pro-drug, in a VERY good way. Say no to Sketchy drugs people, this movie is a MUST SEE!!!!!

EXCELLENT 2007-08-28
I first saw this at the Hamptons Film Festival. I begged the producer for a copy of the film to show all my friends. I thought the movie was excellent and very well done. A must see!

Totally one of a kind. Not a big budget, over-produced, concept comedy - but a great little adventure one night in Hollywood. We follow a handful of 20/30 somethings on a typical weekend night, all on the prowl to have a good time. There's the bitchy girls, the dorky guys, the punk rockers, the hipster boys, and the 80's rappers.... who all flow in and out of one another's storylines. There are trippy graphics/narration that reminds you of a government how-to guide from the 60's. We are taught how to get into a club, how to find a good house party, how to score drugs, why scoring drugs can lead to heart attacks, how to avoid that boy or girl that you really shouldn't hook up with, and generally how to navigate a successful night on the town.

This movie is a must see! It's a crazy comedy like no other. Part satire poking fun at the L.A. Hipster bar scene and part party guide, the Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down is a fresh flick! Possibly the best modern Party Movie of All-Time 2007-07-23
I'm a total film nut and have seen just about every movie out there. I saw The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down several months ago at a special screening in Hollywood...
It totally blew me away. Raw, hillarious, true to the lifestyle. One of the best party films ever. Brilliantly directed and shot, some great unknown actors, and a clever narration vehicle to move the story forward at an upbeat pace. It's like I was watching a collection of the funniest stories from my nightlife experiences in LA. And honestly, for those green newbies to the LA scene...Very informative. Almost educational. You will probably never see this film in a major theatre, but great gem for the personal DVD collection. I'm def putting it on in the background next time we have a rager.
As an indie filmmaker myself, this is the kind of film that keeps me inspired.
Glad you guys finally got this bad boy to DVD.
