Customer Reviews
Perfect for the price

I just needed a simple, easy to use DVD player for our family room. It was simple to set up (a must) and takes up very little space (also a must). I look forward to trying out the other bells and whistles (such as differing DVD formats), which many reviewers say are key.
JVC will soon replace this model with the JVC XV-N370B DVD Player

This review was updated in April, 2008. JVC will soon replace this model with the JVC XV-N370B DVD Player. It will have more user friendly buttons on the front side and hopefully can play some of the older Big Idea VeggieTales DVDs without presenting them in blown-out low-res pixels.
The JVC XVN350B DVD Player plays most DVDs fine accept the VeggieTales DVDs that shipped three years ago, or later.
I purchased my JVC XVN350B DVD Player back in September 2007 and it stopped responding to the eject buttons on the front of the unit and the remote after the DVD starts to play.
I checked the warranty status on JVC's web site and even though Amazon's product listing says "1 Year Parts, 90 Days Labor Warranty" JVC only supports a 90 day replacement warranty.

An Excellent Player. Picture is good and simple to operate.
It's only fault is no volume control. Volume must be controlled
through the equipment player is plugged into. Never the less a
highly recommended machine.
very pleasd with purchase, but shipping leaves a lot to be desired

The DVD player in question is very good and as a previous reviewer has stated, it will play all regions easily with the click (or 3) of a button.
I'm using it as a back-up to a more expensive DVD/VCR comb and for it's approx. $50 price, it just as good. Shipping, on the other hand was not that good. DHL lost the first DVD player after a first attempted delivery. When asked to reroute the second product to a work adress, they refused. It seems they don't do such things. The second DVD player mysteriously showed up in front of our apt. door, no one signed for it and no one remembers seeing it delivered. So, very good product but beware of delivery. Make sure someone is home to receive it. Product was bought at 6ave Electronics in NYC.
Excellent DVD Player at an excellent price!

I bought this DVD player to replace my six-year-old Toshiba SD-3750, which had been "sticking" and sometimes failing to load DVDs, even after having the laser optics serviced and reconditioned. What a beautiful experience it is to have a DVD player actually play my DVD discs without this annoying problem! This DVD player only weighs 3.5 lbs and has a height of 1.4 inches and has just the connections I need for hooking it up to my Phillips flat screen television (which I purchased in mid-2006). The picture quality is wonderful (especially with component video cable connections!) and the remote that comes with it is fully functional and light. The price was just right and came with free shipping. I ordered it on 1/15/2008 and it arrived less than a week later. I couldn't be more satisfied!
Perfect inexpensive machine!!!!!

I have some high priced DVD players and I just wanted one that was dependable and inexpensive. I have had really good luck with JVC equipment so I figured I give this one a shot.
I set up this player and it playes everything which is what I wanted even movies burnt in weird formats that other player seem to have a hard time with or just refuse to play. This player doesn't have HDMI but I didn't want that feature for this player because it is going on an older TV but the picture is great and it comes right up when I turned it on the first time.
The remote has REALLY small buttons and they aren't illuminated nor do they glow in the dark. This would be nice but not a big deal as I tend to memorize remotes anyway.
This is a really thin DVD player I have another JVC player that has a blue LED going across the front of the door and I have had it for about 3 years and I have never had an issue with it and it is also a low profile machine.
If you want a basic machine that is small and thin and dependable that has all the essential features then this is your machine. I'm very happy with my player.
Region free

For anyone who wishes to turn this into a region free player>power the unit on....open and leave the dvd tray out..and then press the "0" button on the remote 3 time...you will get a message telling you what region it is set for.then just press the "0" button again on remote and then the pause/exit button on remote and your ready to go.I have been enjoying dvds that are single encoded such as 2,4,5 and 1....but also this player plays dvds that have multi codes...some less expensive "region free..code free" players don't actually do this they only play dvds with the one rgion code.well anyways this was a great find got the $50 i spent.
