Gastric Bypass Surgery Patients - Salvation!!! 2008-07-22
As a gastric bypass surgery patient, I'm very impressed and pleased with the introduction of this product. It's important for gastric bypass surgery patients to consume 50-60 grams of protein every day (plus supplemental vitamins) to ensure proper nutrition, and Zoic is a perfect way to start every morning to get in an instant 21 grams of protein plus extra needed vitamins. I personally like both flavors, but to me it tastes better by adding in 2 packets of sucralose (Splenda) and stir it in prior to drinking. It tasted like it needed to be a bit sweeter. I really like the Belgian Chocolate and like the French Vanilla as a change of pace. I buy it by the case, and the Amazon price will be tough to beat. I'm going to sign up for the monthly auto-ship plan to save even more money. I'll need to get 2 cases/month. Some days I'll have 2 cans. Excellent product - highly recommended!!!
Keeps Hunger at Bay 2008-06-27
I bought this product because I don't always have time for a meal. I usually drink Slim-Fast but unfortunately it never really made me feel full. I have to say that ZOIC definitely takes the hunger away! I can't believe that after drinking this, I don't feel hungry for several hours, which is a big deal for me. (I'm always hungry!) I guess it's because of the 21 grams of protein, which is a lot more than Slim-Fast.
The taste is good, comparable to other meal-replacement drinks. I take one out of the refrigerator and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before I drink it because I like them really cold and frothy. I will definitely be ordering this product again, and I think next time I'll try chocolate.
The Best 2008-06-20
This is, by far, the best protein meal replacement out there; only 2 net carbs and 21 g's of protein. Wonderful for dieting OR maintaining. I get it by the cases and have it at least once a day. Thanks for carrying this, Amazon! (Sometimes hard to find in the grocery stores--got to make room for all of the twinkies, ya know ;-) )
This is the BEST!!! 2008-05-15
My personal trainer told me to get this product, because hea wanted me on a protein diet for 2 weeks. I thought it was going to be nasty, like the other ones I've tried, I was blown away when I tasted it. This product is so delicious!!! Even now that I am off the protein diet, I can't stop drinking it, I still have it on auto delivery. It is a great meal replacement, and you get all the nutrients, vitamins, etc. that you need. I hope they never stop making this stuff!!!

I recommend buying ONE can of this somewhere FIRST to see if you like it before you buy a whole case.
I read all these reviews saying this was great tasting stuff. All I have to say is- dang, I'd hate to taste the BAD stuff!! I was very surprised when I got my case of Vanilla Zoic and I couldn't gag it down. It has a very odd taste. It's a chalky-metallic, very artificial (and not in a good way) taste and it took me a while to figure out what it reminded me of- then it hit me- PEPTO BISMOL. And no, I 'm not kidding. Maybe the chocolate is better? The nutrition in this is hard to beat, but I just wish they could make it taste a little better. I have to mix fat free choc syrup into this just so I can stand it (because after all, I do have a whole case to drink!)- which sucks because it adds extra calories.
Listen, I'm not a picky person... I'm a girl who eats a lot of low calorie stuff and I'm very used to this kind of thing, but this is just nasty, I'm sorry. Not a good review here. I got the recommendation from Hungry Girl and usually their reviews are spot-on, but this stuff... not so much. But hey, you may be like the others and LIKE it. If you are, then good... because you'll have a whole case to drink.
Splenda used in this drink 2008-05-03
I was surprised to find Splenda in these.
I would rather have real sugar or a healthy
sugar substitute like stevia or agave,
I didn't care for the taste of the French Vanilla.
On the pro side, each can has 21 grams of protein
and a huge amount of vitamins in good %'s, eg 40%
of calcium and 50% of vit D.

This drink is awesome!! Fills you up and tastes great! I prefer the French Vanilla. I stick the can in the freezer for a couple minutes, delicious. It's perfect for before a workout, right after, or as snack or meal replacement. It's recommend by the American Heart Association, Low Cal, Low Fat, 1 gram Sugar, great for diabetes and with 21 grams of Protein, it gives you an energy boost. I highly recommend it !!! Waiting for the Strawberry Version.
Good smoothie mixer

I like all the nutritional stats on this drink. However I think the flavor is a bit off to drink it straight from the can. I have found though that it makes an excellent smoothie mixer. Just add some fruit, and a little yogurt and you have a very tasty, healthy smoothie. I will certainly keep buying Zoic drinks.
