It's a TV Stand
2008-05-22
The stand holds the Mitsubishi TV very well and offers plenty of space for your "stuff." However, it doesn't have a back to it so all of your cables kind of show through. It creates somewhat of an eyesore or distraction to the perceptive individual.

When I decided to get a new HDTV, the one I selected the Mitsubishi 73' needed a base and I selected the Mitsubishi MB-73PB Matching Base for WD-73734/WD-73733. It's a beautiful black base that fits the TV absolutely perfect. In addition, I also use it for the placement of DVD's.
I recommend it.

I got this TV stand after a couple days delivery delay caused by Eagle delivery contractor. I feel I did the right thing by purchasing this stand, you can't get this size stand for this price, it's sturdy, looking good, previously assumbled (just install the glass shelf) and suitable for the 73" mitsubishi TV. It's heavy and needs two people to carry it, however, I put felt pads under it and now I can move the TV with stand easily on the wood floor underneath it, even my seven years old can do that! I would recommend this to a friend.
Excellent Stand

I got this at the same time I got the WD-73733. When I was researching the TV, the stores I visited didn't carry this stand. They had ones that were a lot more expensive and, much more important, weren't slotted specifically for the TV to slide into. After you place the TV you then bolt it to the stand with an "L" bracket and four screws. This is important since I live in California, earthquake central. Knowing that the TV is not going to fall off the stand is a tremendous comfort. As for storage, it comfortably holds eight peripherals including a large center channel speaker. I couldn't be happier with it.
Mitsubishi Base Unit

Base is not too bad but way too costly. I have seen similiar units for hundreds of dollars less.
But the image is great....

Mitsubishi's 1080p DLP HDTVs deserves a base with room for your gear but without taking up a lot of space. Mitsubishi's designers focus on the details that compliment your taste and style. The open shelves make setting up your components and running cable easy. Discretely keep your cables out of sight while still using your favorite input devices. The fit and finish is the same high quality you have come to expect from Mitsubishi, including a precisely made slot for the HDTVs base.

My review
2007-12-11
Great stand! Comes pretty much assembled, except fot the shelf. I read in another review there were only two shelves. TRUE! But the shelves are 5' 6" wide and 8" high! I have my DVD, Bose Wave and digital cable receiver on top, Onkyo receiver (surroud sound), Onkyo center surround sound speaker and RCA VCR on the bottom. What else is there! I am in work on putting a black piece of cloth to cover the back of the unit to hide all the wires/plugs. This shelf does not "dip" with the Mitsubishi 73" DLP HTV that it was made for. Now if you put on the old style tube tv that weighs 800 pounds, it might, but this stand was made for a certain set of TV's..right?
