Customer Reviews
You can load XP on this machine
2008-05-24
I agree that this machine and Vista do not play well together, and I'm not happy about it. However: with regard to XP, I called HP Customer Service and the rep gave me links to all the drivers I needed to get my copy of XP up and running (there were a few drivers missing but Windows Update picked them up eventually). However, I recently went back to Vista because I want to try Windows Media Center using an XBOX 360 as an extender. I'm hoping Media Center runs better than some of the other apps.
small profile, great value!

I bought this computer (refurbished from J&R) because there is no way I could come close to building it for the price! This small unit is fantastic! It's so compact & quiet, I keep it on my desktop. I was concerned about the AMD processor in the small case since they tend to run a bit hot, but I have had no problems with it; it stays cool. I did put a 2 GB stick in - left a 512 MB - for a total of 2.5 GB. Runs Vista without a snag. I couldn't be more pleased.
Good PC but no drivers for windows XP

I purchased the Desktop, removed Vista and installed XP. Nothing worked since there were no XP drivers for this PC. I had to reinstall Vista and I am now stuck with it.
HP Slimline computer is fine, but Vista?

Computer works fine so far, but I question the new Microsoft program Vista. Was there a real need for this program or is Microsoft just interested in in getting a out a new program to sell more software?
