Expensive Junk

I just spent another hour trying to copy a 300 mb file from one computer on my network to this miserable piece of junk. The wireless network is weak. 15 feet from the hub the signal strength is barely three bars. the computer won't let you view a media file over the wireless network. When you try to copy a file the computer hangs up. Control Alt Delete won't stop the hang up. Ultimately I have to shut the computer down with the power switch and restart. Another computer in a different part of the house 40 feet away gets five bars of signal and can copy or view media files with no problem. The other reason I bought this sorry mess is for the hdtv tuner. Guess what? The tuner doesdn't work any better than the wireless. The tuner can't pull in signals that my other hdtv sony can. I think HP has used the cheapest components it can buy. It is no wonder HP is a failing company. This is my fifth and last computer built by HP.

Don't buy it.

The HP Pavilion is excellent, I can use the remote control with the Center Media, I can connect cable signal to see different channels on it, i can rewritte on the face of my own DVD's. I can use the Center Media of windows to do everything about audio and video, etc. This is a great product.

a steal at $ 449

my dog knocked over a vase of flowers and my laptop was history( recently revived at a cost of $300) thought I need to buy a desktop now...bought this at office max for $449...was a steal ! teamed up with a spectre 22 inch LCD Hi Def...i definitely enjoy the screen real estate...unmatched. Its slower than the intel but if you get a bargain I dont see why not ,,...total cost of system $700

Great Media Computer

Great computer so far. I have it installed to a Samsung 50' Plasma TV in the family room. The Windows Media Center software is easy to use and the computer is very fast. For the price of $629, once I get my rebate check of $50.00 from HP, it is definitely a good buy. My neighbor and I bought the same one, no complaints here.

PS. The shiny black front side of the computer matches the Samsung TV; Aesthetics was nother reason I bought this computer; Does not look cheap.

We bought this computer with the hopes of doing editing/journalistic work. Unfortunately, once we turned it on, we discovered that we only had a trial period for the specific software we wanted, which cost an additional $399. This was totally unacceptable and we returned it to Amazon citing the fact that nowhere on their website was this trial period mentioned.
