wonferful book

Lee Strobel has done it again. A wondeful book, well documented and written for easy reading. You will enjoy this book......
A brief visual preview of the book

This movie is good to share with friends and family but only reveals part of what you get out of the book. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend you get that. Much more detail in the book. Doesn't mean not to get the video. I think this video is more of a teaser for the book.
A Great Introduction to Christian Apologetics
2008-03-16
Lee Strobel has done the Christian community-and indeed, the world, a service with this DVD. I was extremely impressed with both the content and the production values. The video is a great introduction to Christian apologetics both for the ordinary "man or woman in the pew" and the "ordinary skeptic."
To claims that the film is biased, of course it is. It's an apologetic documentary after all. But it is nevertheless a balanced overview, or summary, of the evidence for the truth claims of the NT. This documentary isn't any more biased than the TV documentaries that usually air on the cable channels (A&E; THC; DSV; TLC; etc.) at Christmas and Easter which are typically aimed at a popular audience and biased against the truth claims of the NT and which usually cater to the sensational and bizarre. Strobel's DVD, should serve as a nice to counterpoint to all the quack popular scholarship out there. True, the film doesn't get too technical, however it doesn't need to. Anyone interested in delving deeper can check out the books listed in the bibliography, many of them written by the very scholars interviewed in the film.
I think every church would benefit by screening this DVD for its members.
Wha Wha?

Before you look at the two stars I gave and you are a christian, I personally believe jesus was who he was and that is that, but Lee Strobel does not and I mean DOES NOT give the other side a chance to state what they believe, instead he takes the "The God who wasn't there" approach and interviews people on the street as the opposition; then he goes to people he knows that are Christians to make christ's case. It was disappointing. It would have been better had he put people who didn't believe in christ and that were also reputable people. I hate to say it but it wasn't very good.
Optimistically Disappointed
2008-02-27
I watched this, with what turned out to be, docupropaganda, with initial optimism truly hoping for an "investigative" approach into the subject matter of "Christ." However, I could only conclude that the entire objective here was that of an opportunistic propaganda. I was very disappointed in this piece of work attempting to be passed off as, and to the unsuspecting purchaser, as a real investigation approach into the existence of CHRIST. It evidentially became clear that this project had absolutely nothing to do with investigative reporting. I suppose I should have first taken a look at just who the producers were - La Mirada films, to really know what this piece would no doubt be about.
This was nothing more than an opportunity for the newly converted to "spread the word" and to somehow depict Mr. Strobel's born again belief basis as that of investigative proof. One might even theorize that what this piece originated via Lee's wife demanding that Lee 'believe or else' . . . it's that pathetic. If you're looking for real evidentiary proof and/or investigative reporting into this subject matter, see - ZEITGEIST THE MOVIE where Lee might want to consider and re-think just exactly what an investigative-journalistic approach entails!
Brings it to life...

Well done Lee. I was raised Roman Catholic, but lost interest in religion during my teen aged years. I've since reconnected with God, and this book has added dimension to the Bible. It answers many of the questions which were left unanswered in the past and contributed to disconnect from religion. I've just finished reading this book for the second time.
I would recommend it to all Christians who have unanswered questions about Jesus, who's faith is under attack, or for those who arent quite sure what to believe.
Lee's writing style is easy to read. And I found it easy to imagine I was in the room with the scholars he interviewed.
A Christian Film that is actually good
2008-07-17
Lee Strobel does a great job researching and discussing the Case for Christ in this DVD. He brings in multiple speakers from the actual book, and we get to see and hear each of their personalities and ideas. Not only does he have Protestants give their ideas, but he has Jews and Catholics as well.
The only problem I had with it, is in the very last section, the pace slows down and you start to get bored. Other than that, very well done.
Truly a must.

Lee Strobel does a wonderful job of explaning the central issue of life. All men are inherently aware that they are sinners facing eternity so they either must find a way to save themselves or find a savior. There is only one worthy of trust for eternal life.
It is a must read for anyone honestly seeking the Truth.

The truth is presented so anyone can understand it! It's just too short. Buy the book too!
search for truth?
2008-04-06
I didn't find this documentary a riveting search for truth at all. It seemed obvious that the whole point of the 'investigation' was to end up with him converted and to make money off of it by releasing it as 'a case FOR christ'. If that marketing angle alone didn't turn me off then I would say it's more a movie about a guy who wanted his family to stay together and thrive so much that he convinced HIMSELF that all this Jesus stuff was true. He certainly didn't do anything to make me feel more convinced.
