this is an exellent water filtration system filter for the faucet, for anyone that doesn't have one, this is extremely great to purchase. We have florida water, and anyone that has florida water or knows somebody who has it knows how bad it is. this filter does a perfect job of purifying the water. these filters was an exellent buy from the seller we got them from, and buying 6 at one time last us probably 10 months or more. If u have kids and use them for all cooking and drinking, they may only last about a month, for me and the mrs. they last about a month and a half.

Why did I wait so long! 2008-06-30
Wanted to get some water purification for our home; came across Pur and did some research. What it claimed matched what we wanted. My husband bought it, easily installed it within minutes and voila! We love it. Our water, which was just okay with a slight taste of chlorine (yuck) now tastes like fresh spring water for which we were spending loads of money on weekly with 2 young children not to mention the pollution we were contributing to with all the plastic bottles. We bought ourselves some stainless steel ecowater bottles and now we have fresh-tasting, healthier water without polluting the earth with the waste. Sure, the filters are a bit pricey but worth it nonetheless. I figure we'd have spent that on the plastic bottles anyway.
Good but not cheap

I have been a big fan of the Pur 3 stage filters ever since I installed one on my faucet when I bought my house about a year ago. My only complaint is that they dont last long enough considering the price paid. If it weren't for the fantastic price available only through Amazon (trust me I looked everywhere) I might have uninstalled the filter from my faucet.

I like the Pur faucet-mounted water filters, but I never bought one because of the expense of replacement filters. However, here are their best filters for less than $10 each, and with each one lasting 2-3 months, it's extremely inexpensive. Combine these with one of the Pur vertical mount faucet filters (I had leaking issues with the horizontal mount), and you're set for clean, tasty water.

As an avid drinker of water, the quality of my water has been important for a very long time. Through trial and error I found PUR. It is the best and just keeps getting better. These filters work well!!!

The filters do not produce the rated 100 gallons of water before they run slow. I think that the water pressure is too low in my home.
Good tasting water, short filter lifetime 2008-06-06
I've had this PUR 3-stage filtration system for 4 months now and have gone through a 6pk of filters. So I'm averaging about 1 filter every 2-3 weeks. At first I was upset because the filters are expensive and were advertised for 2-3 months of usage. But our filtered water tastes MUCH better than the normal tap water (and the strong chlorine smell was filtered away) so it seems as though the filters were doing their job. Recently, I received a notice from our town water utility describing the local water system. Apparently none of the town water is filtered, it comes straight from the NYC aqueduct and gets chlorinated, but that's it. The town we live in is fairly old so I imagine the water pipes are quite old. Also, our house is over 100 years old so I suspect that the combination of unfiltered town water + old water pipes is allowing a lot of sediment to clog our PUR filter. I would much rather spend some extra money on filters to ensure clean water than to worry about whether the filters lasts a long time. If a filter lasts a really long time, it seems to me that maybe it's too porous and allows more sediment and chemicals through into the drinking water. I'm no expert but this is my thinking on this issue.
