The Heroin Diaries Sountrack was never intended to be the typical head-banging, fist thrusting album. This is NOT Motley Crue.
What we have here is, I think, exactly what Nikki Sixx intended: REALLY GOOD music that captures the pain of an addict's darkest year. The more "diaristic" tracks are just as powerful as the songs.
I recommend buying this album, as well as the book. They can stand alone, but together, the experience becomes so much more powerful.
Nikki's heart 2008-09-30
This book is absolutely amazing, easy to read, funny, dark, deep, all in one. Nikki really opens his heart and your world to help others. Excellent book!
Disagreeing With The Editorial Review 2008-09-24
I was quite shocked at how the editorial review for this cd was so negative. Yes its true that this is different from Niki Sixx's previous work but in my opinoin it is vastly better. Throughout the cd, the listener can feel the raw emotion that Sixx was feeling at that time. It is simply a phenominal cd.
The Best New Band and CD Out! 2008-09-18
If anyone has read the Heroin Diaries, they have to get this CD. it is very toughing and emotional, but hard and heavy as well. i have listeded to this CD just about every day. i would say the Best Band and CD from Nikki Sixx.
Heroin Diaries Soundtrack 2008-09-16
This CD is loaded with deep and emotional music. Nikki Sixx and SIXX:AM put these words into edgy tunes that sets the tone for the book. What an amazing job! I love the music. If you love Motley Crue you will almost certainly love this CD as well....Check it out!

They Even Rock Live! 2008-08-22
I couldn't be more impressed with Sixx:A.M.'s live performance, since that is often the proving ground of many bands. I have seen 4 other Motley concerts, so I should know that these guys aren't just a spin-off or some disgruntled band member trying to "stick it" to the rest of the band. The sound was great, and I am happy to say Thanks James, and all the band, for making my son's first concert a wonderful experience. Good luck on the rest of your tour, can't wait to hear more from you!
Sixx "solo" should be a success

I've been a Motley Crue fan since Too Fast For Love in '83, really enjoyed Nikki's book, and now am a big fan of the Sixx AM CD as well. Sixx is a fantastic songwriter and highly underrated. This isn't like a Motley record or like the 58 band either; it's a personal, introspective, modern rock. There are some real rockers, some ballads, and some stuff in between, but it's all good. Only Nikki Sixx could make a concept album about himself and pull it off without sounding pretentious or full of BS.

When it comes to music, I am a fan of all types. When I first got this CD, I didn't know what to expect. However, as Xmas in Hell started, I knew I was in for a treat. These guys are geniuses. This is by far the BEST CD THAT I HAVE BOUGHT IN YEARS!!!!
Van Nuys is an unbeliveable track full of truth. In fact, this whole CD is full of truth. In an unbeliveable way, this CD is very inspirational!
Life is Beautiful is such an unreal song. The music and lyrics are amazing.
Girl with Golden eyes- I love how this as well as most of the music on this CD flows! Beautifully written and composed. Nikki coming in and reading from the diary is such a great touch that just made an awesome CD even better.
Courtesy Call- what can I say, a work of art.
If you are a fan of rock music, whether you love Motley Crue or have never heard of them, you will love this CD, I guarentee it. I never thought I was going to get exactly what I hoped for, but never believed it could happen. Music that really means something and you never get tired of listen to it over and over.
YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG WITH BUYING THIS CD.
I can't wait to get to see them live at Crue Fest!
