Perfect!! 2008-10-29
I ordered this to go with my Weber Q100. I took the grill to the Dominican Republic and the hose adapted to the propane tank I purchased there. Thanks much to the customer who recommended this, instead of the rubber Weber hose. Well worth the money.

High quality stainless stell braided hose adapter 2008-09-21
very nice looking hose adapter i used it with my Weber baby Q. I like that it is a little shorter than the weber brand hose. Highly recommended

Keeps the Squirrels Away 2008-09-10
Replaced the standard hose on my Weber that the squirrels liked to munch through. This one is tough as steel.

Excellent addition for webber Q grill 2008-09-09
I purchased a webber 120 Q grill which has a fitting for the small propane cylinders. Wanted to connect to a large gas cylinder, so purchased this connector hose. It is only $6 more then the rubber one, and has nice brass fittings to connect to grill and tank. I think it will last much longer then rubber one. As some have noted rats, squiralls and other varmits cannot crew it. Hose is 4 feet long, plenty of length to store tank under table.

Quality hose 2008-09-05
Although I haven't had any problems with animals chewing my rubber hoses, I often camp/rv in areas with ground squirrels and pack-rats. The pack-rats like to chew on things under the car hood at night. This hose is of good quality and appears to be quite tough, so now I won't worry about finding an unusable hose while camping.

No More Squirrel Damage 2008-08-02
Since replacing our old damaged propane hose with the Freedom Stainless encased hose, we have not had any more damage! We recommend this hose

Much better than the Weber hose for Q series grills 2008-07-31
After a squirrel bit right through the weber hose I bought for my Baby-Q, I went to Amazon to buy another. Fortunately, I read the reviews from others who had the same problem with the Weber PN 41455, 6501, and 3666 hoses for the Q series grills. One review pointed to a far better product that does the same thing, and that product is the Freedom Grill FG-50HA hose. It is a high quality stainless steel braid hose, and animal proof. It is slightly shorter than the Weber, but still plenty long enough to reach from a Q grill at table height down to a 20 lb cylinder on the ground. Thanks for earlier reviews that point to the FG-50HA. I bought it and it works great with my Q.

Buy This Instead of the Rubber Hose 2008-07-16
I bought this for my Weber Baby Q because I didn't like the idea of a rubber hose. This is solid, high quality. It's perfect

It's Greeeeeeeat! 2008-01-06
I was going to buy the rubber gas hose. I thought this one was too expensive, but when you add in the outrageous shipping they've tacked onto the rubber one this thing comes out rather nicely priced.
No chipmunks would dare nibble on it and it's the perfect length for the Weber Q on the picnic table.

Great for the Weber Performer Grill! 2007-12-29
The older style Weber Performer grill uses a large five pound tank to hold gas for igniting the charcoal. It wasn't uncommon for the tank to go five years or more between fill-ups, because it isn't used to cook with, just lighting the charcoal and turning it off.

So, it wasn't a bad tradeoff when Weber revised their popular Performer grill and changed to small, disposable propane tanks like those used in hand-held torches. They don't require refilling, don't take up much space, and last a fairly long time as long as the gas is quickly (and manually) shut off after about five minutes.

For those of us who use the grill a lot, the tanks seem a little small, and a little wasteful. They aren't too expensive, but a heavy user can go through three or four of them a year, more if the gas is left on a little longer than the recommended five minutes.

Weber makes a six foot hose adapter for their portable gas grill, the Weber Q. It connects between the inlet for the bottle and the outlet on the propane tank. If you read the reviews over there, however, you'll find that it has a fatal flaw: it is made out of tasty squirrel food! No kidding, apparently the squirrels see it, bite it, and it leaks, sometimes in just a few days after installation.

This hose is wrapped with stainless steel braiding, which squirrels can't bite through. It also helps make the hose last longer as it keeps any bulging from the underlying rubber hose to a minimum, and protects against abrasion. This is why permanently installed gas lines are required by code to have a stainless steel sheath.

I was worried about the much shorter length (three feet instead of six), but it turns out it was exactly the right length. The hose doesn't have to go from the inlet to the floor, just the inlet to the top of the tank where the outlet is. Three feet is just the right length to run to a tank beside the grill, so at least for the Performer grill, this is the one to get.

One gotcha with this is they used RPT threads on the connection to the tank. This is plumber-speak for turn the head counter-clockwise to tighten it instead of clockwise like everything else. When it first came, I thought it didn't fit because I turned and turned and the threads never engaged. Then I remembered the thread thing and turned it the other way, and that solved it.

Highly recommended!
