I have tried this hoop and it felt absolutely awful. I even know someone who received internal bruising from this kind of hoop. You are better off with a weighted hula hoop like the ones at www.customweightedhulahoop.com I bought one from there and I love it!

This hula hoop is fantastic. You have to take it easy at first, because the massager's will bruise you, until you are used to them. This hula hoop is wonderful, it will trim your waistline as long as you are consistent about using it.

This Hula Hoop is a perfect illustration to the well known saying "no pain, no gain". Does it hurt when you use it for the first time? Absolutely! Does it leave bruises on your waist? Yes it does! I can see why the weak ones are returning it and writing the lame reviews. But boy it works wonders on your body! Specifically if you're trying to get rid of your ever lasting love handles, this device will get you there sooner that you've ever imagined. But you need to work hard, and swallow your tears for a few days. Then your fat starts to melt down. This sturdy and very well made piece of plastic worth its weight in gold. And you can take it apart too!

Just don't get this, there are other cheaper, better, safer, and easier to use sports hoop on the web. The prongs on this one are very dangerous they cause horrible bruising and the hoop itself is really big. It's heavy and difficult to use. Why bother workout when you have a week of recovery time between hula hooping? I bought this and ended up buying another "sports hoop" within two weeks (which was and is wonderful). If you've just heard of this workout technique - at the very least do NOT start with this hoop if you feel you must buy it.

Save your money!! The bumps on the inside of the hoop were so hard and big they made it too painful to use at all. Unfortunately, with this seller, once you've taken it out of the box, you can no longer return it. So I lost my money and am stuck with something I can't use. But, I found another hoop with bumps that are smoother and softer and works great. Keep shopping, there is a better hoop than this one on the market.
