Black is Black! 2008-04-08
In doing my search for the best HDTV on the market, everything pointed to two TVs the Samsung LCDs that are LED backlit vs. the Kuro. Now the Kuro you could get the Elite version but I really didn't need the additional color controls for a the price differential. Now back to plasma (Kuro) vs. LCD (Samsung). I have been waiting for an LED backlit LCD 1080P television to be produced and Samsung was the first to build it in a 60inch size. From all the reviews, it is a remarkable tv. However, plasma sets have the best contrast in real world tests but until recently did not deliver a 1080P picture. But the Kuro version is now 1080P. Decisions, decisions... When I saw the Kuro and that beautiful black, I was sold. Why does black matter? Black is what provides the contrast that gives you true colors and three dimensional-like pictures. I will admit that it took me a while to get used to seeing such a picture. It is like nothing I have seen before or since. For example, sitting in a dark room watching the credits in a movie scroll by, all you see is the clean text. You can't tell where the screen ends, the texts looks like it is floating by. Crazy. This is hands down the best HDTV that I have ever seen.

Pioneer 6010, one word: FANTASTIC 2008-04-08
I purchased this Pioneer 6010 directly from Amazon about 3 weeks ago. It was delivered with their white glove service. The TV arrived early and in perfect condition. A paranoid shopper like me can highly recommend doing business with Amazon, I have never had a problem with them. Now, for the TV, I have only been able to view it for a few days because it has taken me a while to set up with my cabinate modifications and waiting for other components to arrive. I am using a Pioneer BDP-95FD Blu-ray player that just came in a few days ago. The high definition picture coming from this combination is simply "fantastic". So far I have watched cable HD programming and Blu-rays: "Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End", "I Am Legend", and "Blade Runner". Very nice, and everything has gone together perfectly and works in harmony. High Definition and Standard Definintion are both very impressive on this set. I am very happy with this purchase and the price I got over the internet was great. I am using a Krell sound system and Carver Amazing Platimum (old but good)speakers on the front end, Infinity Interlude speakers for all surround and center, Velodyne 15 inch subwoofer. The entire package is pretty thrilling. Just for fun I put some "On Demand" childrens shows on for my three year old daughter to watch (Jack's Big Music Show). She was smiling ear to ear. Technically speaking as far as picture quality, I don't think you can get any better than this from what I have seen from all of the competing models in plasma and LCD. It is a little bit more expensive but I think it's worth the investment. From all of my research and the decisions made I would not have chosen anything different.

Best Picture but bad warranty service 2008-04-04
I rated the 60" Kuros strictly on the quality of the picture. I purchased a PDP-6010 FD Kuro and a PDP-5010 FD Kuro. The quality of the picture is incredible. However, My PDP-6010 FD failed after only 9 weeks of use. Service technicians have been working on it since Mar 22, 2008 and today is Apr 4, 2008 and they still haven't fixed it. I think they are slowly rebuilding the set in my den. I had to remove the Plasma (at some expense) from my wall before the technicians would do warranty work. Beware of Pioneer warranty service. I am still trying to get my Plasma fixed. And then I will have to pay someone to put it back on the wall.

Just buy it! 2008-03-28
The delivery was flawless and timely. The picture is the best in the industry in my humble opinion. Very long owner's manual is available online at Pioneer's site and reading it ahead of time helped. STRONGLY recommend a professional install and a massive bracket if it's going on the wall. Price at Amazon (as usual) was 25% less than at Best Buy and with free shipping it's a no-brainer.

It is everything you heard 2008-03-27
I waited 2 years for this TV. I was going to get the 50" 720p but the price wouldn't drop below 1999.99. I decided to go with the Panasonic viera instead. Right after I received and hooked up my Panny, the 60" 1080 dropped in price. Much more expensive than I really wanted to spend ($4200 at Amazon with free white glove delivery) but I did it anyway. Wow! Glad I did. Beautiful image, beautiful TV even when off, TV guide- (for those of us who don't have or want cable)Image is perfect. Auto adjusts the aspect also! I use a DB2 antenna in my basement and picture is perfect and FREE!!!!! Most HD channels are in the evening! I feel like I am in the audience watching American Idol! Really!

For those who don't or can't pony up $4000 + (I charged it). I highly recommend the Panasonic Plasma TH PX75U series. Save yourself about $3000 dollars. The image is amazingly close to the Kuro even at only 720p. Really it is that good! I have the 50". and my parents have the 42! Awesome picture!

Enjoy your TV!!!!!!!

Home Theater installer problem 2008-06-07
My Pioneer TV is still sitting in my garage because the home theater installer I hired, Patrick Williams, Home Theater & Technology of Woodstock, Georgia took my $6,000.00 deposit and didn't come back to install my system. I paid him for the TV but I ended up having to buy it from 6th Avenue myself because he took my money. This is a warning to anyone hiring a home theater installer - don't hire this thief and be careful of who you do hire.

Get lost in Deep Blacks and Rich Colors 2008-05-25
I have been searching for a flat panel TV to buy for the past year and a half. I had been scoping this set out for a least a year and finally decided to take the plunge after hearing Pioneer decided to stop making plasma sets all together. It ended up costing me quite a bit, but once you see the picture.. you realize the 5k is worth EVERY single penny.

The blacks are simply remarkable. And no matter how long I look at it, the set simply continues to impress me.

One recommendation I would make is to have "white glove" delivery for this set. It is heavy... and as someone else posted... to put the set on the stand you need a LARGE table or firm bed. It would have been worth it to me (after the fact) to have paid the extra $100.00 to have the delivery guys car it up the stairs, unbox it and set it on the TV stand.

In any event, I am simply too happy about the quality of the set to complain about anything (even its hefty price tag). It really is fantastic. If you know you want the best... you know you should go with a Pioneer Kuro!

Great TV...But Buyer Beware! 2008-05-18
I'm TOLD it's a great television. I ordered this from Amazon in March 2008. When the installers went to install it, the screen was totally shattered. Only the plastic film in it was holding it in place. I contacted Amazon and went through all their channels, and they refuse to replace it. Of course I'm entering into a lawsuit with them over it, but in the meantime, I have a television that they sent in broken condition that they refuse to replace. So DO NOT BUY THIS FROM AMAZON!!!! No matter what you tell them, they will refuse to replace it. Feel free to email me at mikeshuck2001 at yaho o dot com.

Kuro 6010FD 60" Pioneer plasma 2008-04-30
I wont review the set beyond saying it is a gorgeous TV, it really does everything the reviewers said it would. Simple set up, wonderful image quality.

I originally ordered thru an Amazon Marketplace dealer (not Amazon itself), they delivered a set that was (thru no fault of theirs), damaged. They were out of stock, I eventually cancelled the order after 21 additional days and placed another order for the TV thru Amazon itself.

Set was delivered on the scheduled day (7th day after order) by two very helpful drivers, they un-crated the TV, set it up on its stand, and put it in place for me, then powered it up, only then did they ask me to sign for the delivery.

Excellent service from Amazon thru the entire transaction. This was a large online purchase, and I would gladly do it again. Thanks Amazon!

Pioneer PDP-6010FD 60" Plasma TV Review 2008-04-12
This is a great plasma TV, every friend of mine who saw it was very impressed. The only other set that is a smidgeon better and looks better(but hard to see the difference in the picture quality) is Pioneer PRO-150FD (same specs and the best TV picture at any price). However PDP-6010FD sells at substantially lower street price. There is no other set at any price with picture this good (except PRO-150FD) so I did not mind paying the premium to have the best picture available.
