Being the novelist dry-waller my fiancée is, he found this unit extremely useful. I overheard him mention to the neighbors, the ease of assembly and break-down of the lift. He said it was well worth the nominal cost. And compared to local rental companies, he would have paid for the unit after 2 rentals.

I have used this lift to hang about 20 sheets of drywall on our new ceiling. It is well built, easily transportable since it breaks apart without tools, and was a back saver. Considering that I paid what it would cost me for a 2 day rental, I am extremley happy. Now I will be able to loan to friends and/or help family when needed. Also, I no longer have to have help when hanging drywall. This is a must have and I highly recommend it.

I used this to hang about 100 sheets of drywall in a new building, by myself. Great product ! Save loads of time and no sore back ! I had bought the extender also since I had 14' vaulted ceilings also, and this worked like a charm. I really like the fact that it can break down into 3 pieces for storage. I will also be using this for the new house we are building, so I will definitely get my money's worth on this purchase.
I was disappointed that the shipping was almost as much as the porduct. What's with that ?

The ( wheel )/crank came bent , I'm not happy, The lift cable pull's to one side and the cable wind's tight to that side, making it impossiable to crank 12 feet high.I made contacted the company and they said they would send me a new one or my money back, but now my email has only returned when I said I would rather have my money back, or better product.I might give one more sheetrock lift a shot, if the company will only make contact with me. I may be forced to stop my credit card payment.

DRYWALL CEILING INSTALLATION MADE EASY ! (with a lift you can do it by yourself) 2008-05-05
I had been putting off installing a drywall ceiling in our garage for...well, let's just say a long time. Thinking that I would need help and have to rent scaffolding or something, it all seemed like a great big hassle. But with this 15 Foot Drywall Lift/Hoist by Platinum Tool, it was a cake walk.
The equipment lifted the drywall into place and held it there while I secured it with screws. All by myself. Piece of cake! And I could take my own sweet time about it, too. The lift is sturdy and well built, and it's stable as it holds the drywall into place.
Sure, you can rent one of these, but I only get a chance to work on a project like this on weekends and some nights, so it takes me a while to finish. And that can run up quite a bill at the local rent-all store.
Assembly is easy (no tools required) and it breaks down to a compact size that's convenient for storage. This is a nice piece of equipment.
The shipping costs are expensive (shipping costs more than the lift), so that might be considered before buying, but for what it does, it's worth it. And you don't have to buy a bunch of beer for your friends to get them to help you, either.

i just dont know how i survived without this tool all these years, nothing could be easier than the drywall lift, its even simpler than using two people to install a 4 x 12 panel on the ceiling. assembly was easy with no tools needed. worth every penny

The first 2 times the lift came damage and it was missing parts. But the 3rd one was perfect. Just as good as a 500-700
