The 9.6-volt broom vacuum sucks up dirt and debris from hardwood and other bare floors with ample power, eliminating any need for a dustpan or the accompanying bending over. The cordless broom vacuum sucks up dirt through a 10-inch wide nozzle. Debris travels through a replaceable filter to collect in a dirt cup. The dirt cup removes from the broom vacuum with ease and is see-through for external fullness monitoring. A foot switch engages the broom vacuum's motor. To operate the broom vacuum, employ a standard sweeping movement. The broom vacuum is designed to tackle dry spills rather than puddles and soggy messes. Cordless in design, the vacuum eliminates tangled cords while providing endless range of movement. To recharge the unit, plug the unit into its adapter. Heavier than a real broom with less cleaning power

It only took one use to figure out this broom was not for me. It's much heavier than a real broom, which makes sweeping even more of a chore. And it's essentially like a regular broom in that you have to sweep first - the vacuum-as-you-sweep function really didn't work for me. The only benefit is it's supposed to suck up the debris you collect, but for that to work the dust has to be lined up perfectly and you have to aim the center of the broom at it. It's a pain. I've gone back to my Swiffer-type sweepers and recently discovered microfiber dust mops, which are great. I keep looking for my perfect vacuum, but I'm beginning to doubt it exists.

This is exactly what I hoped it would be. You sweep things into a nice wee pile and it sucks them up! Fabulous!!!! Worked well on the pine needles from the recent Christmas tree.
