Don't forget to buy the basics!

I bought this for my son who is 11. He loves the games. I thought I had read the description thoroughly so did not realize that I needed the basic Zoo Tycoon 2 before I could get these specialty Zoo Tycoons like Extinct Animals or Marine Animals,etc. Fun game. Just need to get ALL the goods you need. (which does, of course, increase your cost)

Grandkids Love Zoo Tycoon 2 Extinct Animals

While I have not played this game myself :), I can attest that it is well loved by our two grandsons for whom the pack was purchased. They are and 8- and an almost 11-year-old. Our son had passed on it being acceptable for the boys and that it was a pack that engendered creative thinking. We're glad that we got them something they really wanted and would enjoy. We also got the Marine pack which was also appreciated.

Fun expansion pack

My son asked for this for Christmas and he thoroughly enjoys it. No problem installing on Windows XP computer. No quirks or kinks that he's discovered yet. All in all, he's very happy with the game.

This game is a great addition to the Zoo Tycoon line. There are new animals and scenerios to play and lots of fun new stuff to discover. I own every one of the Zoo Tycoon games and have never been disappointed with any of them. These games provide hours of entertainment for kids as well as adults. I've been playing zoo tycoon since the first one came out. I had gotten a little tired of it, but since I got this new expansion pack Zoo Tycoon 2 Extinct Animals Expansion Pack I've been playing it again daily! There are so many new animals and new things to do, like researching dinosaurs and other extinct animals. It's so much fun!

Adds dinosaur bone digs

The Extinct Animals Expansion Pack adds many new animals to the game. It allows you to search for and dig up dinosaur bones, construct the new dinosaurs, and place the newly created dinos into exhibits. You no longer need to place an egg and have it hatch. My 6-year-old son loves playing Zoo Tycoon 2. We have purchased both the Extinct Animals and the Marine Mania expansion packs and he has enjoyed the game even more with these new additions.

It was a Christmas gift and it would not work on the computer they have. They haven't had much luck with this series, off and on.

Best zoo ever!

I love zoo tycoon and couldn't wait for this game to come out I was so excited when I got it. It's a ton of fun-but the prices for the animals are a bit out of proportion ( 3,000 dollars for a dodo?) But they soon pay for themselves in donations, or you can make them for free at the extinct research lab. It's also fun to take care of them and overall have them at your zoo. Another big plus is the entertainers that eliminate the guest amuzement issue. It's a great game and any zoo tycoon 2 fan needs to get it.

Great Zoos

I am a Grandma who enjoys playing Zoo Tycoon 2. I was introduced to it by a grand daughter a few years ago. It is the only computer game I play other than the usual solitare games. It is a fascinating and educational game. Also if you want to earn goodies the challenges and campaigns are not easy. But I also do the freeform games. I have even introduced my 4-5 year old grandson to it. He loves being able to drive the jeeps and really enjoys taking pictures. I think this would be a good game to be in the schools possibly. It teaches about animals and where they live etc.
