big screen, no glasses.

Pretty good quality, but I can't get used to the wide screen. In order to read without glasses, you have to give up some picture quality for size.
Looks great-works great

It is amazing, the difference between a pretty good 17" and this new wide format flat panel. You will never go back.
Beautiful Monitor! Toshiba doesn't disappoint.

I received this item and as a comparison I booted up my machine as I was swapping monitors so I could see difference between my 17" Dell and this. After some auto adjusting I was just awe struck at the picture without any adjustments.
I popped in a movie and saw a whole new level of definition that I have been missing out on. It almost brought a tear of happiness to my eye.
I then popped in one of my favorite games and it was as if I was playing anew. I felt more absorbed in the images and gameplay it was a beautiful thing. I then found my 15 minute test turned into 4 hours of bliss. This is a wonderful item. Enjoy!!
Product banged up, no replacement avail, seems shady !

While my experiences with Amazon have always been a mixed bag - this one takes the cake. I ordered the Toshiba PA3553U-1LC2 22in monitor and received it about a week later. Of course, I can't blame Amazon entirely for the way UPS treated the package but please - how difficult or expensive would it be for Amazon to add a "fragile" sticker to the plain shipping box? As it was, the monitor was shuffled around in the local UPS truck for over 12hrs until delivered at my front door. By the time I got it, the shipping box had crushed edges and a couple holes that I could fit my finger through. It's kind of funny that after staying home all day to receive this package, the UPS driver dropped it off without as much as knocking or ringing the door bell. I suppose he knew how I would react. Inside the shipping box was the monitor in a retail box. This is the part that really upsets me... one of the corners of an otherwise perfect retail box had sustained a crushing blow - BEFORE it went into the shipping box. That's right, it looks like Amazon placed the damaged retail box into the shipping box - then UPS banged up the outer shipping box, but in places that would not have caused the crush to the retail box!
Unable to ever trust the condition of this monitor, I requested a replacement from Amazon. As one would hope, Amazon customer service apologized and stated they would send a new one - but not for a month or two - WHAT the heck is going on here ?? If you want to avoid this kind of wait / headache /wait & wonder - just find the one you want in a retail store like I'm going to do. I still think Amazon is the best place to buy books and power tools - just not delicate electronics. Think it through before getting something like this online.
